Roadrunner Racing SR1
Discussion
Hello folks. Im new here but been a long time lurker.
I thought id introduce my Roadrunner Racing SR1. I think there's 1 or 2 on here that have owned one, so feel free to get in touch if you have
It weighs about 380kg and has a Yamaha R1 2004 engine, so around 180 bhp! (yet to be dynod) Its got a power commander III, Trickshifter, Throttle blipper and push button gear change so its clutch less up shift and downshift with an automatic throttle blip on the downshhift.......so with the above figures....... its the same PWR as a Pagani Zonda?!?!

Well, my last car was track only. It was a hand built GSXR1100 engine single seater!

Yes, the SR1 is road legal. They made about 12 of them and have since changed to making Caterham style cars.
On the road it isnt too bad. Its very much track focused but with the bonus of being ble to be driven to and from track and also road tested. The previous car could only be tested on track so was a pain in the arse

Hi mate, the firm Roadrunner racing still makes cars but no longer the single seater, however they still provide parts and bodywork for it. Ive heard though that they have had a fair few enquiries about the SR1 and they are considering making some again, but i wouldn't expect much change from £20k for a road legal one
Theres single seater SR1 for sale at around £15000 on ebay at the moment. They pop up for sale probably once every couple of years. There aren't many road legal ones around in the UK. The only reason i got a road legal one was being able to drive to trackdays and the occasional summertime ride out.
All i would say is, they are a kit car, so expect to have to tinker with them. However at under 400kg in weight, they are a proper track weapon
