2011 Lotus Evora S

Hi all,
Took delivery, of a new to me Lotus Evora S (and first ever lotus), purchased from Bell and Colvill (who I was very impressed with)
Everything Ive heard about the car is correct, the handling is just sublime, and steering, certainly feels like a very special place to be, surrounded by aluminium and leather, there doesn't seem many rattles or squeaks either, feels very solidly built inside.
This particular one has had the MY12 gear linkages apparently so the gear changes are better, and the 3rd pre cat removed, with a bypass pipe (a bit more sound which is welcome) but not intrusive. Someone has spent good money upgrading the stereo as well, installing a new DAB stereo which is surprisingly good , and batter speakers with amp. I wasn't prepared for the attention, I thought my previous Granturismo stood out, this seems on another level though, lots of pointing from people.
On the way home, I saw a lovely Elise at a service station, have the driver a wave, and got a cheery wave back which was nice. So far, Ive only bought one upgrade, which is an aluminium gear knob, as I really don't like the look, of, or to use the acorn shaped one it comes with as standard

If you sell it make sure you are selling to buy a different Lotus. Its like a disease, for the last ten years or so i have owned at least one form of Lotus car. At the moment i have none, if i see one on the road it hurts in the pit of my stomach such is the need for another!
In all seriousness though it looks lovely, have never owned an Evora myself but had one a couple of times when the others have been in for a service and they are lovely to drive, just on the right side of grown up car and still a Lotus.

Got my eye on the Evora market myself, did you drive many before you settled on that one?
Many thanks, I did go to see a dark metallic green, with tan leather Evora that B&C have in stock, but saw the red in the flesh, and looked fantastic. This was the first one I drove, and fell in love with it, also having all the work done to it. I originally was going to go for the N/A Evora as that would easily be enough power for me, but I know I would be always would be wondering if I should change to the SGot my eye on the Evora market myself, did you drive many before you settled on that one?

the garage who I purchased the car from noticed it had some damage in the lacquer, and were keen to have it back to get it sorted, they've completely re sprayed the front clam, which now looks fantastic!

Still loving the car and the positive reaction it gets, here it is in the Shelsley walsh hill climb car park next to a Ferrari 308 which is good to see,
Still really enjoying it (seem to be using every day at the moment to be honest!)

Another quick update, some of the chrome on the rear light surrounds weren't looking brilliant, so as a quick fix, I sprayed them black, similar to the Evora 400, I'm quite pleased with how its come out.

Really enjoying it! Wasn't sure about the looks when I first saw them, but really has grown on me now, they seem to be one of the cars that look much better in the flesh as well. Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
