Widebody Flare Welded to my Porsche 911
Discussion
I TIG Welded this flare to my 1974 Porsche hotrod build. It turns out there was about 5 feet of welding and metal finishing to get a simulated factory result.

Here's a 30 sec video of the actual welding video behind a welding helmet.

Brave man, welding arches is not for the faint hearted.
I'd recommend a bit more welding practice first though, and see if you can set up a back purge system, you will never get a clean TIG weld without purging the rear of the weld.
Wow, I don't know any restoration shops that back purge outer body sheetmetal. Do you? Porsche didn't, maybe delorean did...I'd recommend a bit more welding practice first though, and see if you can set up a back purge system, you will never get a clean TIG weld without purging the rear of the weld.
Not building a space craft.
