Thought I deserved my very own thread for this one, behold my new 595 Comp smile

Am only a week and 250 miles from new into ownership and very happy, has a certain charm to it I adore and I smile everytime I start the key! No real plans as it is just so new but some tweaks here and there, seat lowering kit will be first then a retrofit auto-dim rearview mirror as I forgot to spec one. Luckily I did manage to spec up everything else such as the Performance Pack adding: an LSD, carbon back half leather, half alcantara, carbon fibre backed Sabelt seats and the Monza wheels I also added Beats Audio, the 7" Nav Pack, Carplay and Xenons.

I really should take some interior shots as well. Note SWMBO's new Focus ST-Line X in the pics as well, a very fine addition to the fleet.

Lovely car that, and those seats are a thing of beauty.
I drove one in Italy earlier in the year, and remember thinking then that the driving position was too high.

I absolutely love the 595 Comp, I just really wish Fiat had created a new diffuser with the correct cutouts for the Monza exhaust.

It really niggles at my OCD that the quad pipes sit in the round recess.

The answer of course is to get the Akrapovic system from the 695 BiPosto biggrin

Thanks driving Agreed, although its not so bad that you complain to yourself every time you get in it! Its a mild irritation that is easy enough to correct.

It is far from perfect, but that in a weird way makes it all the more better, sure a Fiesta ST is a better drive but it's not IMO the better car!

I prefered the old style Monza look over this one but still happy enough. The Akrapovic would be nice but I am not sure I can just over a grand just to fill the diffuser properly! Still.... who knows wink I do find myself looking at the Biposto intake stuff as well....

Love these! Would like one when my Scirocco lease is up in 15 months, but sadly they are too pricey for me on 12k miles. There are other exhausts available (bombardier?) with round pipes that fill the holes in the diffuser in a more OCD friendly way and I think there are reasonably priced. Not sure if they sound as good as the Monza though. Enjoy your new motor!

Cracking looking car.

Did you get a good deal given the extras? I could be less subtle and just ask what you paid hehe

You might be surprised in terms of cost. My local Abarth dealer wanted £299 per month for a standard Competizione initially. I specced a few things and ended up paying £242 p/month with 10k.

Cool car geeks.

That's a cracking deal Gav. We paid £235 down and £235 per month for my wife's Trofeo. Only option was metallic Record grey paint.
It has the Monza exhaust though. That's why we chose it over a Turismo.

I often wonder if they just stick the GFV up when you haggle them down.
I should have asked what the GFV was before I started haggling. It's the first pcp/finance thing we've done.

We'll be aiming for a Competitzione next, although we've had a few warranty niggles so far so the jury is still out on staying with Fiat.

Enjoy the car anyway. thumbup

I believe the deposit I put down was around £700-750, but I was more conscious of the monthly payment. It's a second car for weekends and the occasional blast to work if I don't fancy the comfort of the daily.

You may very well be right about the GFV, I barely even glanced at it to be honest! It'll be handed back at the end regardless so I wasn't too bothered.

Bizarrely my Fiat's have been the most reliable I've owned; I used a 1.2 500 for 3 years when I lived a couple of miles from work and all it cost me was a tyre for around £30 or so. I just wish the current Range Rover was as reliable, it's like Blackpool Illuminations on my dashboard!

Just wish delivery of the Competizione would hurry up now, the wait is brutal!

600 mile update, needs a wash! Bought two buckets (natch) and some Megs stuff, never been into "detailing" or "washing" cars really, still first new car, might as well make the effort for at least a month, will be heading over to attend my first PH Sunday Service weekend so I might just wait until next then to do it.

As for ownership, car is excellent, still makes me grin like a fkwit and engine has loosened up a little too! Have been compiling a list of wants as well..

Fiat Coupe rear bump stops - Makes the rear a little more compliant
Alcantara boost gauge cover - Really bothers me that the main dash binnacle has this but the boost gauge doesn't!
Seat lowering brackets - Just waiting for confirmation they are back in stock.
New intake - Lots of different approaches to this, I will most likely come up with my own, see if we can add some carbon and power and maybe noise
New Exhaust - Mmmmm Biposto pipes!

The last two items are for somewhat further down the line, it has a warranty, I am happy with how it drives but I just keep seeing shiny and carbon things for it and the want is strong!

I need to find someone local(ish) to Milton Keynes who has the steering wheel boss extender thing and have a go, while I have long lanky arms and don't struggle with the wheel I would like it a little bit closer but I have a feeling it would end up too close for me to use and be comfortable.

1,300 mile update.

Number of washes since new: 2, this is heading into record territory for "Number of times geeks has washed a car he owns!"

Number of tanks of Vpower - many! I am now on first name terms with the local Shell Petroleum Emporium employees. This isn't owing to ruinous fuel economy but I am certain it has the smallest fuel tank in existence!

Economy - Some. If I trudge up and down the motorway between 70 and 75 she is really rather frugal. Not unusual to see 40+. Around MK though, not so much, 28 (often less) is realistic, I have a heavy foot, its all stop start etc

Additions - 1 x Private Plate, 1 x Poppy and 1 x PH Smiley. I am still waiting on the seat lowering brackets to come back into stock at TMC

Still very much smitten with the car and as it ticked past the 1,100 miles marker it seems to have gained a little oomph, where before it would rev to 5.5k and pretty much die, it now seems to rev to just over 6 before dropping off, feels a lot more keen too driving

Looks great and im glad youre enjoying it.

Miss mine. Great car but mine suffered from wheel bearing issues (several replaced) and the wishbones were looking to be replaced, for the second time, when I ended up trading it in with 30k on it.

I had h&r springs with coupe bump stops, bluespark box and a novitec exhaust. So much fun and a great daily. Only sold it as I wanted to buy a car dedicated for weekend/summer blasts and have a rotter for week days.
