That is a great car history Matt, fiesta looked lovely. Bet the Ginetta was fun, I don’t know much about them.

Awesome not a million miles from my own history although I'm going back some years! But my first car was a 205 gti, followed by a 106 rallye and a fiesta runabout before getting a BMW E36 328i sport at 21 (they were still fairly new cars at the time!)

I'm sure your going to seriously enjoy the BMW but its a shame you couldn't hold on to the Ginetta as well, such great cars and would compliment a modern auto BM very well I'd have thought.

Thanks I'd love to own a 205 GTi, my dad learned to drive in one! To see a nice 328i sport is a rarity nowadays, which is a shame but they are getting on a bit now.

In an ideal world it would have been great to keep the Ginetta but it wasn't really possible. I'd like a Caterham 620r as a toy but that's never going to happen!

Thanks I think I've progressed slowly! I was expecting to have a Ferrari F40 in the garage by 20

Can't wait to pick the 235i up!

Caterham 620r would be a good toy but I'll always be drawn to Ginetta's as in a another link to your car history I did my work experience at Ginetta!!

What are the plans for the 235? Any upgrades planned? You did well on the colour as can't be too many out there in melbourne red.

I was expecting to have an E-type by the time I was 20, but life sometimes doesn't work out as you'd hope!

Get the 235i chipped - it'll probably be as quick as the F40 anyway!

Interesting to know, i am a big supporter of the marque. I think if I got another one it'd have to be a G20 challenge car just to do a few trackdays with it.

I haven't planned anything for the 235 really, doing anything to it will probably make my insurance premium go up massively!

An E-type would be lovely! I'll be leaving the 235 alone, the insurance would be more than the car if i did anything to it!

Having covered around 500 miles in the BMW I'm very pleased with it so far, it's amazing how spending just a few hours cleaning it made it look ten times better than when I picked it up "valeted" from the dealer. It suits my needs perfectly and it's quick enough to get you in trouble quite quickly if you're not careful. I'm also enjoying the auto & having driven a manual m135i this week I think the auto suits the car much better as an everyday car. Whilst the weather was nice today I thought I'd go for a drive over to the Uffington White Horse, some fantastic views from there as well...

Well it's been a while since I updated this thread! I'm still enjoying the car and I've been getting about a bit in it. I do miss having something a bit more 'interesting' for the weekends but the two series is nearly perfect for me as an all round car. I haven't done a lot to the car apart from an interim oil & filter change. Anyway a few photos of what I've been getting up to...

I went on one of Gurston Down Hillclimbs school days, I was pretty terrible at the whole thing but it was great fun and it wasn't a competitive day anyway. A little video below but ignore the date/time as it's a bit out

Those Highlands pics look beautiful, nice to see you enjoying a nice car on a cool holiday. I've never been to Scotland, might have to convince the Mrs to go and see the BTCC at Knockhill and then go exploring!
