Hello

First of all i’l introduce myself.
I am Roy, 22 years old. Living in Belgium.
Always been a big petrolhead, the past 7 years more intrested in cars from the 80’s and 90’s.
I already had a few cars 1990 Audi 90 2.3 USA spec, 1993 Audi 80 1.9TDI, 1986 Audi 90 2.2, 1979 DAF/ Volvo 66 1.1

Currently have 2 cars. A full restored 1989 Audi Coupé 2.2 5cylinder (daily driver) and an 1988 Audi 90 2.0

A thread about this car will follow later on, it is “finished” full resprayed, new suspension, interior,..

After restoration of the Coupé i was searching for a car that i can “abuse” in the weekends, enjoying driving without worrying about damaging the paint and don’t needed it the next work day.

A friend in Holland was selling his 1988 Audi 90 2.0 5cylinder, and i bought it for a nice price!

When i bought it;

It had damage at the hood and doors, so replaced those parts with color matching parts!

Ordered a lot of parts for the car;
-Kamei bumperspoilers
-Audi 80 competition spoiler
-Hella Rallye 1000 lights
-mudflaps

Got all the parts and wheels painted and installed some USA taillights!

The next they to do was, get it stickered up. Contacted some companies and found one in The Netherlands!
The design is from an Audi 80 Quattro from the Manx rally 1982/1983.

Installed some bucketseats with Sabelt seatbelts

Sabelt steeringwheel

Ordered a stainless exhaust system from FOX, ending up not using the mid silencer and ordered an delete pipe.

Removed the headliner, the original one was in bad condition. Replaced it with some isolation stuff

Removed the rearseat and placed woodplates covered in fabric.

Sold the white wheels and bought some OZ racing wheels.

New suspension
-Adjustable Koni sportshocks
-Bilstein B3 springs
-new wishbones,
-new type swaybar and struts
..

Parts that will be installed this winter;

Wiechers rollbar

Flocked interiorparts

Pictures from events/ roadtrips (did over 7000kms in 4 months!)

Still got some plans;
-Fixing the rear damage (someone crashed into it at the parkinglot at the Nurburgring, waiting on insurance)
-install the rollbar, shifter and interiorparts
-272° cam, ecu tune & adjustable campulley, k&n airfilter
-powdercoat inlet-manifold, paint valve cover
-install a CB for roadtrips with more cars
...

Great cars. My parents had a 1988 Audi 90 2.2E when I was a child. F71 PFR.

These were a fantastic car and that looks really good.

I had a similar era 100, the 5 cyl engine is lovely and they were pretty indestructible, everyone goes on about quattros, and they are fantastic but they raced and rallied most of the range back then, will never forget a 200 rally car spinning off in the snow and me thinking no way that will get out, big heavy car off the road in deep snow, but all four wheels span and off it jolly well went with a blare of 5 cylinder racket.

Really wanted a 90 back then, bit smaller than my 100 with the more powerful engine, think they would still work well now, so well made.

Thanks all!

Been working on the car for longer then a month now!
Plans are a bit changed.

Bought an 2.3 20V 5cylinder N/A 170Hp engine

After a week standing still, the car didn’t start anymore. Clutch was very bad too.
So started the swap!

Cleaned up the enginebay!

Engine in!

Swap finished! Only needs to remake the exhaust because of the manifold!

Next part of the winterworks! Interior..
Everything out!

Testfitting the rollbar!

Painted the rollbar!

Received my package from America, 034motorsport shortshifter!

Update received from Germany
Very rare Kamei sideskirts! Won them at auction on Ebay!

Will try to keep this updated! smile

I love this, as a previous owner of two S2 Avant’s, and my Dad owning a B2 80 Sport and B3 80 quattro, I’m a huge fan!
I would LOVE an 80 or 90 saloon for a project cool

Dashboard is back in!

I think the car will be finished in the coming week.
Only need to fix the rear damage after that.

Great progress - did you change the heater matrix whilst you had the dashboard out? They have a habit of leaking / bursting and the dashboard has to come out to fix it..

Love it.

Thread very much needed on the daily driver... the 90 Coupe really is a good looking car.
