Giulia Quadrifoglio
Discussion
2 weeks in and I love it. GTR had to go due to our new human arrival 3 months ago so had to get something a bit more practical with more room and 4 doors. Looked at the usual suspects, M3, M5, RS4/6, C63 but none of them really lived up to expectations when I test drove them. I did like the RS6 but it was so bloody massive and the steering was very weird under full throttle. Also, I kind of wanted something a little bit different so having watched Chris Harris' review and a few others, I drove across from Cumbria to Hull to test drive the Guilia as it was in Monte Carlo Blue, my preferred colour. The ride and handling were brilliant especially over poorly surfaced and bumpy roads. I was sold there and then.
1000 miles in and I'm loving it, the only annoyance being the bloody front tyres skipping. Gets lots of (the right kind of) attention and I don't get every man and his dog wanting to race as I did when I had my GTR as most people obviously haven't a clue what it is.

Don't see many around even just the "regular" ones. Look and sound amazing though imho.
TX.
Because of the OP’s post I watched a few youtube videos and i’m not sure on the sound anymore, at low speeds there isn’t much noise to it and it has the standard to every relatively warm car now parps n farts on the up shifts. TX.
Originally I liked it over the m3 but i’m not so sure now? Guess they’re all a bit crap compared to my car though...
OP, how you finding the engine noise? Is it wildly different in person compared to videos?
Monte Carlo Blue is fantastic on a sunny day, it sparkles, understated when it's cloudy. My photos don't do it justice and I didn't want a red one.
It sounds great once above 4.5k but to get the full effect all the time it needs to be in Race mode which means zero driver aids. In Dynamic it's quiet until around 4k rpm at which point the exhaust valves open, in Normal or Auto it stays quiet all the time. I got pissed off with my GTR on the motorway, too bloody loud and tiring after a while. This'll waft along at 80 in 8th gear at 2k revs, silent. Drop it a few gears though it goes bloody ballistic :-)

Awesome, good info to know! I like my cars to be noisy all the time so will keep in mine should these ever hit my budget! They’re doing well at the mo depreciation wise ey It sounds great once above 4.5k but to get the full effect all the time it needs to be in Race mode which means zero driver aids. Enjoy, it’s a lovely thing in every way
Lovely. I bought mine under the same circumstances, in the same colour! Sadly not a Quad though, you got me there!

I know it's hard to spot sarcasm through the internet, but I reeeeeeeeaaaallly hope that was tongue in cheek
Anyway don't want to derail the thread.
Love these - especially that they are so scarce. Really like the colour.
Following with interest OP, would punt for one myself if I had the spare disposable, alas going out the door too rapidly on a sprog and a non-working wife at the moment.
I'm sure you will, but it will be good to get updates on long-term running costs.

My friend has had his Quadrifolglo modified to allow his to run the exhaust in noisy 'race' mode whilst keeping all the driver aids in place. I think it's activated by a key-fob if I recall. Wasn't too expensive and he likes it
