Hello Ladies & Gentry,
A lurker on the forum for a while, I own a MK2 Fabia Vrs and due to its poor health and lack of manual, I have went full ricer and bought a "VTEC" but being me it had to be an odd vehicle and the Aerodeck ticks all the boxes, enjoying it so far and making me feel like a child smiling everytime I drive it. It's not perfect and needs some work and a much needed proper detailing and paint correcting and body panels changed. I will try and keep it updated and answer any questions about it. LSD is very enjoyable in the wet and hopefully I will feel the benefit on track. It is extensively modified and looked after, however I think I can perfect the car as it's 80% there and needs that last little push. Also love the boot space!

Ahhh the MB6 (or I think the Aerodeck is an MC2), still a badass car. I’d have one for a daily if I could get one for the right price. They’re rare old cars now!
I had the engine and box from one of these in my Del Sol a few years back, they’re pretty underrated as people say the ratios are a bit long but I never found it too much of an issue!

Yes mate it is an mb6, bit of a sleeper in my opinion. They are not cheap as there are not many left I believe there is 14 of this spec on the road. I like the long rations and think it suits this car quite well, maybe I would put an integra type r box in if I turboed it but at the moment I don't feel either is necessary as it's pumping out 203bhp of usuable power anyway.I had the engine and box from one of these in my Del Sol a few years back, they’re pretty underrated as people say the ratios are a bit long but I never found it too much of an issue!

Cheers mate, I really enjoy the gearbox and don't see why people are obsessed with shorter ratios on them. I have looked at boosting mine but I love the engine so much n/a imo boosted civics are great for power but takes away some of the honest fun the car provides.I need a long ratio S9B gearbox for my boosted EK, can’t wait to get one fitted hopefully with a plated diff in the new year.

I bought one of these recently as having owned lots of Type R's ( DC2, Civic and Accord R) I thought this might be similar fun but with the handy 5 door body and low price but still with an LSD and B series 170 bhp should have been fun (photo below was a 2 owner FSH low mileage standard car).es.
Could not have been more wrong, in standard form these are absolutely rubbish!
The gear ratios are all wrong, too high geared and too wide spaced making it drop out of vtec, the steering is woeful, zero feedback, over-assisted, and bouncy suspension, this car had no sporting characteristics apart from the engine.
At the same time I had a cheap old MG ZS180 which is basically the same shell but wow it showed up how badly Honda messed up the fine tuning on these VTi Civics, very odd result.
Summary - a wonderfull B series Vtec engine strangled by a badly chosen gearbox, odd feeling LSD and bouncy wobbly suspension.
It was so bad it reminded me of a Corolla Vti T sport 190 I once had the mis-fortune of taking back in p/x/ (and that was really bad).
and my tired old ZS180 that made the Vti feel like a blamange to drive

That's so odd mate, my best friend loves mg/rover and tunes them frequently but still says the vti is a better car. It was actually his suggestion and I liked the aerodeck so it just worked out. I have driven both and I agree the V6 is a nice car but it isn't as tunable long-term. Whilst mine is standard it is one of the best cars I have driven. The lsd imo is fantastic, suspension I don't believe in standard suspension on my thing really, especially older cars and I feel the gearbox complements the added power and potential for a turbo really well.Could not have been more wrong, in standard form these are absolutely rubbish!
