After recently forking out for a Ferrari 599 GTB (the GT car) and a BMW M3 E92 V8 road legal track car (the track car) - both featured on Readers' Cars - I made the mistake of trawling the PH classifieds for a sports car to add to the stable. Within a 12 hour period last week I agreed a deal with Tom at Divine Automotive (a thoroughly decent chap and fellow enthusiast) for this used Porsche Boxster Spyder (2016).

It's baked beans on toast for me now for the foreseeable future. Still, I have multiple European road trips and track days booked so it's going to be worth it I'm sure...

Looking good, Ben!

You got the house move all done?

I've spoken to Tom before as he has a lot of interesting Clio V6s passing through!

Spyder looks great! Interested to hear your thoughts Vs. The GT4.

Need to get the Cobham meets started again now the sun has returned so hopefully see you soon!

Love these! What a stable you have now, so I take it the Ferrari will be for Grand Touring, M3 for Track Attack and Spyder for everything else?

All good thanks Dom, only a short move from Cobham to Chobham! Looking forward to receiving your meeting dates. Hopefully I can get some more time away from Brussels and Geneva this year in order to drive the Spyder properly once the weather improves smile

Yes, indeed. Apart from an appropriate workhorse I think I have all the bases covered now smile

Love it, what a collection, wish i was able to enjoy a garage like that(by no means a dig at you op). I'm currently running about in a £200 Rav4 which i absolutely adore and an E89 Z4 for the good weather. Hats off to you, a great choice of metal, all individually great in their own right.

I loved mine and in the road found it more entertaining to the gt4 as it moves around a lot on 265 rears.

I let mine go as I was doing more trackdays so got into a 996 gt3.

Brilliant car though congrats!

The Boxster Spyder has arrived! So, after a 30 minute drive over the weekend these are my initial impressions:

What do I like about it? Engine (note), gearbox, handling and brakes. It’s quite a bit softer than a GT4 I used to own but that makes it a better road car and more fun more of the time at anything less than track day speeds. I also think it looks the business!

What don’t I like about it? Fiddly roof mechanism (part manual and part electric) plus the clutch is quite stiff. That’s about it!

Overall: couldn’t be happier!

I'm not the worlds best Porker fan TBH; the Panamera being about the one I like the most, but that Boxter is lovely and it suits its boots down to a tee clap

Just sold the Porsche Boxster Spyder to Lucas Hutchings at The Octane Collection. The Spyder was a wonderful, if short-lived, addition to my stable, but I've just grasped the opportunity to purchase a very purple replacement, which will be arriving soon...!

Porsche Spyder positives: engine, braking, handling, build quality, size, exterior and interior design (to these eyes at least).
Porsche Spyder negatives: fiddly roof mechanism, road and wind noise (but not excessive by any means).

Will let you know when the thread is up - congrats!

Looks like the Spyder and the 599 went to fund it - hope it lives up to expectations!
