Most reliable vehicle for £300?

Everything bar the drivers window works. Well. There isn't really anything to not work.

It drives well I think for something out of the 80's and the idea was throw it through a jetwash, give it a polish and flog it. It has got a fair few body blemishes.

However my Mrs is a florist and has a French name and for the miles she does (barely any) I'm just thinking tidy it up, give it a coat of paint and give it to her.....

I thought it would be horrendously slow but as it has the DW8 engine that would give the PD130 a run for its money in reliability, it isnt too bad

Not sure about the colour coded dashboard though
Header tank looks like its got a bit hot- could be down to the 98mph thrash just before?

Lol, as soon as I saw the title I thought of the 1owner, fNsh, 48k, 03 K11 Micra that I picked up for my daughter a couple of months ago, it cost exactly £300; sailed through its MOT last week too.

I can't quite shake the notion that these things left the factory with battered panels, faded plastics and the interiors covered in paint.

Although no matter how neglected, they do seem almost impossible to kill.

I cant believe they still rolled these out of the factory in 2002. They look like they should've stopped making them in the mid 90s. :haha:

Uncanny... I passed a motorhome version of one of these things last night and couldn't but help think that it would be a pretty grim place to spend two weeks of your summer holiday. Must be rather cramped, rather sparse and rather slow but then again perhaps that's the appeal. If you have the time / space / energy / finances to give it a bit of a tidy up, it's surely worth doing as a bit of a cheap tool / novelty / investment?

Check for rot around the engine bay and sills - they are VERY prone to tin worm!
