Hi all

Thought I would share some photos of my new (to me) i8. It was the one featured in the 'spotted' article on here recently.

Even thought it has 55000 miles, the condition is great, theres the odd stone chip on the front, but not bad, the interior is a lovely place to be, and seems to be have been well looked after.

The main reason for the purchase is were expecting a new small person in May, so the Alfa 4C and UP GTi were sold for the i8, I've even found a rear facing child seat and pram that will fit! The OH does have a 5 door Astra which we can use for normal duties..

The i8 really is a brilliant thing, this is my first hybrid, just popping to the shops under electric power is most relaxing, and comfort mode does a great job of switching from electric drive to petrol. The sport mode is very addictive, and the shove in the back from the electric drive and engine is quite impressive, it even sounds good (even though its amplified..) It's taking a bit if getting used to get used to the different driving modes, and getting the best economy with driving enjoyment..

One thing I have found is the attention is all positive, which I wasn't expecting, lots of nice comments, photos, and thumbs up. Even more so than the 4C! The space ship like looks, with no noise seems to intrigue people.

I've had no problems with the doors yet with regards to parking, they don't seem any worse than the large doors, big door sill combo on the 4C, having the 100,000 mile battery warranty is nice to know, and due to the complexity, the warranty from BMW... It really does seem an amazing amount of car and tech for the money!

The most amazing thing, is that it's a 5 year old car, which these days might look old the second its driven off the forecourt (given the rate new models arrive at), and yet, nope, it still looks not just bang up to date, but actually futuristic still!

Love it, particularly how your choice of sensible family car is an i8! Did you consider any more ‘conventional’ choices or had you your heart set on the i8?

Had my heart set on one of these, but didnt thing I would end up in one. The OH once said she liked them, which was all I needed to find my way to the pH classifieds.....!

Really does seem to seem to. Apart from the blue in the interior, it still looks modern too.
