I am in the market for a second car. I'd like to get something convertible, two/2+2 seater. Also needs to be reliable enough to be a daily driver when required, and civilised enough for partner to drive?? We are looking at the HONDA S2000 GT, and wondered what any owners past or present thought of them?
I was keen to go down the TVR route and look at a Chimaera 500 or a Tamora as used to have a Cerby, but other half not so keen.
What else (if anything would you recommend). Not interested in the TT (boring) or Boxster (overpriced).

I've known two people now who've had S2000's, and both enjoyed them a great deal. Of course, one of them enjoyed it so much he tted it on a tree so there you go.

A lot is said about these on various forums, some people say avoid, some love them to bits, but I'm just not sure just how real the legend surrounding this car is. I'd be tempted with one, but I'd like to have a good go in one before I bought. And if you look on the S2000 forums out there, it seems to be a fairly even split of people who love them and people who've wrecked them!

Thanks Andy/Mustard for your replies. We have one for the weekend so will be able to prpoerly evaluate it! Although we also have the use of a Tamora in a couple of weeks, so that may put a fly in the ointment!! We shall see.

I had a BMW M Roadster - super reliable, pretty rare (600 produced in UK) and very good fun to drive too. I used it daily on a 100 mile round trip commute for a year and never had a single fault (except a jammed CD!). Would definately recommend you consider one.
