Audi A3 3.2 quattro - And some car history
Discussion
Long time reader part time contributor! Figured probably the most devisive car i've owned and over time I will be going at the mods and stuff to improve it.
Picked up a 3.2 quattro a3 last week. Great fun, relatively light (Lightest application of this engine at least!) but will be doing some modifications, suspension, wheels, exhaust, remap etc etc to improve on an already pretty fun package!
Pics incoming once it comes back tomorrow, had a crazy cheap quote to have new brakes fitted and needs a lambda from standing a while! Once all is a-ok let the fun begin!
More updates shortly, though i'd love to hear your input too!
Some backstory. I am 29, and have owned in excess of 100 cars, exact number eludes me! I've owned the good (impreza wrx sti amongst others) the bad (god saxos are hateful) and the ugly (VW boras are fantastic but pretty they aren't!)
Hopefully some will find this thread interesting as updates come, I look forward to sharing!

Might be a stupid question but what would a remap do to a NA engine?
Get some pics up ????
I've never remapped any of my cars but years ago a mate has his GTV 2.0 remapped by Autodelta (from memory) and that made it far quicker to rev with a higher red line.Get some pics up ????
Made a surprising difference and probably should have been like that from factory.
Borrowed one of these for a couple of weeks, had small wheels, solid navy blue paint and no badges, looked totally anonymous even the exhaust was quiet, great fun surprising other road users. Really impressed with it only negative was an overly sensitive throttle which made pulling away swiftly from stationary very tricky. once rolling it was fine, this one was a manual not sure if the DSG was the same

Remap with the right breathing mods on these can see around a 30bhp increase with a healthy dose of torque. Obviously emissions was an emerging annoyance in the mid noughties so it was choked to death! Cat back and a panel filter seems to release most of whats needed.Get some pics up ????
I should clarify, 100 cars, but sometimes 5+ at once, depending entirely on where I had space/what was cheap/what bargain I could make a few quid on/how stupid I had been!
Pics incoming Monday! Just waiting a day off to give her a wash and get a few jobs done

Don't know how old the one was that you borrowed, throttle body clean solved the instant throttle issue for me! Pics of that too as soon as I get a suitable photo hosting service set up!Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
