Bought a couple of weeks ago from a seller on here. Unusual colour combo that I’ve only seen this one of as Coventry green was a short lived option on the colour charts.
In really well looked after condition, with tonnes of service history. Q2 diff, recent cam belt, lightened flywheel, full stainless exhaust, re built front and rear suspension.
I’ve mainly concentrated on the interior since I’ve had it, with the seats, door cards and carpet out for a deep clean.
Leather has been treated and recoloured and as a first attempt at doing so (thanks to some google and you tube tutorials I’m pretty pleased with how it’s turned out.)
It’s all nice and supple, shame no “smell o vision” as it has a lovely old school leather and a bit of oil aroma!
Next steps are to do the outside paint correction, probably get the wheels refurbished and have a stab at under the bonnet, which is by far the grimiest thing on the car.

Biggest bit of grief so far was fitting a new gearknob. Original worn and tatty and couldn’t find an OEM one anywhere.
Took a chance on a knob from a GT, which just about fits with some small mods to the inside of the socket (needed deburring as original is screw on, GT is push on)
Took some effort to get the old one off, had to hacksaw it to bits!
Happy with it though as the silver shift pattern matches the fascia fine.
Wheels are off a 147 on spacers, whilst I do have the original teledials as well I’m debating wether to leave these on or get the originals refurbed.

Good looking example, leather looks great! I have a silver with black interior and similar upgrades, I just started using it as my daily commuter and I turn up smiling at the office everyday, they are an event to drive and the noise never gets boring. I have recently made one upgrade which has transformed the driving.... Changed the steering wheel for a momo race, it is significantly smaller so no knocking on the knees and makes the car feel like a go cart in a good way. It requires a new boss kit and you lose the airbag but it matches the interior perfectly. Worth considering if you feel like me that the original wheel is a bit big...

Seems to have all the mods you would need, although not sure about the spoiler. I don't need one but for the price and I have garage space!

Watch a few you tube vids first is my plan! Seems like some people get pretty impressive results with some very simple degreasing, polishing and repainting of key parts.I’m going to clean what I can and see how it looks.
I’m going to take off the plastic shrouds and recolour them.
I’ve already washed the body coloured painted surfaces (made a big difference) and taken off the under bonnet insulation and recoloured it; that was painless and really lifts the overall appearance.
Repaint the suspension turret bracket (not sure what it’s actually called- on the passenger side of the engine bay, the triangle shaped “thing”, and the black slam panel at the front.)
As far as the plenum chamber cover, cam cover, chrome intake pipes and fuel rails I’ve found a company that refurbs them on an exchange basis; it is quite expensive though. To get the lot done is about £750-900. Does look amazing though.
A company has also started remanufacturing the coolant reservoir and OEM style hoses, but I’m not sure I’d go that far as it soon mounts up.
So the plan is to see how far I can get with products, a dremmel and elbow grease before big expenditure
There are numerous rusty fixtures and fittings which I took to a local ironmongery specialist and got replacement screw and bolts for less than £20; I think they’ll make a big difference.
Finally, I’ve found a company that does a replacement full sticker set for all the various emblems under the bonnet; seems decent value at £30.

Sounds like it’s had all the right work done. The flywheel makes a big difference (having driven one with and without the mod) as does the Q2, so it seems like a viable option.Had a look in classifieds and there is a really nice one in Kent below.

Like you I’m a bit on the fence re the spoiler, but sure it can come off.
The interior looks decent and as I’ve proved to myself with about 40 quids worth of product you can fill, feed and recolour the seats to a decent standard; it’s looking for splits and tears that’s important.
I too didn’t “need” one but I basically made a list of a dozen or so things I’d like and just started searching for them. I then just bought the best of what was on offer at the relevant time off my list (thus far I’ve had an SLK55AMG and Ford Puma, kept for 6 months each, as will this. I’ll then get something else as I’ve only the space for one thing at a time.)
