My new Citroen C3 Pluriel

So I finally got one! Thanks for all the advice given on my tread regarding a different Pluriel that i ended up not buying, including all the advice telling me to just not buy a pluriel

So anyway here it is a 2006 Cote d'Azure special, current plans are to have all the silver trims including the roof rails either wrapped or painted to match the blue, a new stereo with bluetooth and possible some alloys, oh and to enjoy my new purchase obviously

Will get more pictures when the sun eventually comes out....

Quite a cool car and I for one am grateful the French don’t always conform to motoring norms. Why change the silver bits as I think they are distinctive and inform the functionality of these.

You were right to pass on the other one, hope this is a sound decision and doesn't throw you any surprises.

I'm guessing alloys will be plentiful and cheap?

Very much a marmite car, and I understand that a lot of people don't like them but I personally do so that wasn't going to sway me off them!

Yes, alloys off the regular C2, C3 and C4 all fit so have plenty knocking about on eBay and FB marketplace for £100/£150 a set

So its been a week and the car has already had to back to the dealer for warranty work

when I bought it, it had recently had a full service including a cambelt and new head gasket, so me and a mate though probably a good idea to run it in and see if anything falls off! took it on a 30 mile ish round trip, got home and discovered its now marking its spot



Took it back to the dealer as I had 28 days warranty on it, and it turns out there was apparently a hole in the sump, so its now had a new sump fitted too.

But in lighter news I took the top off just to see how hard it would be, and I'm absolutely in love with this car

Looks good, the TU engine's worst foible is occasional oil leaks. Thankfully most are easy to find/fix, otherwise it's a good lump.

TBH I'm conflicted here: it's quirky, which I love and would be a great little commute car; I'd be terrified of the leak and other bork potential.

Looks great but where do you put the roof bars when out and about?

I really don't understand these cars at all, conventional cabrio's yes absolutely but these just seem so limited in the times you can actually use them with the roof off/down and go anywhere in them unless you live somewhere where it never rains.

Summed up my feelings exactly! I'm absolutely in love with this car and its super quirky, but I live in fear that its going to bork at any moment, but I guess that's life driving 14+ year old cars!

Haven't fully figured that one out yet, currently thinking I'm just going to leave them in my parking space as I have one that backs onto a wall, and ill probably just use a bike lock to lock them together, not that I think anyone will steal them

depending on where you live the fact that they're not 'knickable' won't come into it, there are people out there who'll steal it on principle or just to piss someone off (the same sort will also vandalise for 'giggles')

So just a little update, got my new stereo in so now I have Bluetooth, no more charity shop CDs wanted to keep it looking as factory as possible so really had to go for a non flashy double din as all the after market single dins looked a bit too max power for my liking, still need to sort out a surround for it as its a little smaller than the hole but overall I'm happy with the result for the price I paid!
