6’ rod bags and assorted other stuff, yes I could get them in the Alfa spider but I wanted an estate.
Loved the Sierra estate I had in the past.
Noticed an add for a V70 wanting a swap for something smaller, I had a fiat bravo just sat there, a deal was done, last Monday my big blue girl arrived, 05, 154k + change, auto.
2 days to clean the interior of paint, grime and grot and she looks great, floor mats were red, threw them in the wash, turns out it was spray dye, i now had reddy/pinky/ beige mats, hands and knees on the floor with a scrubbing brush got them back to factory beige.
She does have issues, all 12v sockets do not work, passenger heated seat, front fogs not working, needs drop links all round, needs 1 new handbrake cable (someone has put 1 on already)
But you know what, I bloody love it, never had a diesel before or a Volvo , what a great noise and according to ‘instant mpg’ gauge I’m getting 87mpg at 60mph..... hmmmm.
When I do the drops I will change all the filters, engine and gearbox oil and pop on a new break cable.

Think I may have a new addiction

Seems we’re all at it with this Volvo malarkey, I’m on the train now to pick mine up!

Can I ask how much you paid? These high mileage volvos tend to go for strong money

I had a D5 V70 for 11 years until 275k miles, a mate still runs it. Fantastic cars.
Now have a V70R smile
12v sockets probably just blown fuses where something faulty had been plugged into each in turn.
Rear fuse box (left side, behind panel in boot) for rear one, front fuse box for the others IIRC.
Drop links common cause of noise, but they also chew through bottom ball joints and the top swivel strut mounts.
If you haven’t already, when it’s warm try foot to the floor booting it, there shouldn’t be any noticeable smoke or limp mode followed by a ‘engine system service required’ message.
If you have smoke, suspect intercooler, and the other issue likely a turbo boost control issue. I know all about both!

A kind Volvo chap emailed me an owners manual, I found all the fuse boxes and yes you are right all blown, I have none of the small fuses until tomorrow, booted it from a standstill and rolling last night, no smoke, limp or failures of any sort :-)
