Bringing my Audi TTS back to life

I originally bought my Audi in January 2017, however shortly after purchasing it I had a bit of bad luck (original readers car thread here https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
Around October 2018 the car was due an MOT and needed a few bits doing for it - so I decided to SORN it for a month or so to sort it as I had a company car and my girlfriends Juke Nismo RS for a bit of fun. Fast forward to now and it has not moved a wheel since November 2018, always meaning to start sorting it but other things coming up such as moving house, changing jobs and going on holiday. But after nearly 10 months I thought enough is enough.
I am probably the least mechanically minded member of PistonHeads, just love cars but when it comes to DIY maintenance and diagnosing problems I am about as much use as a low compression rotary (thats about all I know...from experience).
Issues with the car to be resolved are:
- Dashboard like a Christmas Tree, intermittently the Power steering, ESP, Suspension & EML will turn on, with no real pattern as to why or when, but with at least 2 being always present.
- When cold a very loud tapping noise, which when warm almost disappears, can be heard ever so slightly under hard acceleration.
- Paintwork is a show, think it was better on my old MK2 MR2, as it has been keyed on the bonnet and both doors, I plan to get all these resprayed.
- Wheel refurb, going to attempt this at home in the garage to save a few quid, if all fails I can still take them to be done professionally
- Needs new tyres all round, was thinking P ZEROs if anyone has any other recommendations I would be all ears, Pilot Sports are too much really at around £190 per tyre.
- Stage 1 remap, this should see it to around 300 to 315 bhp and similar torque.
The car has been at my Dad's since November, rather unfortunately positioned under a tree which has made the paintwork even worse, but last night I drove it back home to test the space in the new garage.
Christmas has come early on my Dashboard:
Interior has seen better days...some of the carpets had mould on!
Leaving to drop off at the garage today:
Dropped off today at a local VAG specialist UNIT 20, so will update this thread when I hear back and throughout the process, driving it to the garage put a huge smile on my face as I remember how much I loved it and cant believe I have left it so long!
Hoping to have it all sorted by the end of September to do a mini road trip for my birthday.

Good luck with getting it sorted, they are great cars and cracking value at the price they now can be bought - heard Unit 20 mentioned within the VAG community as being very good so you should be in safe hands.
I bought my black TTS Roadster from a local chap on here last May and have to say have loved every minute of ownership.
Thoroughly recommend the remap, I went for Revo Stage 1 with a Cobra CAT Back exhaust and a CTS intake which is all very childish but has made my car a lot of fun with the roof down as you hear the burbles from the exhaust, the intake wooshing and turbo dumping air.
I then had a Mag ride shock leak this year, so bit the bullet and went for H&R coilovers which has made it like the cliched 'go kart', I can't find the limits on the road.
Tyres I am on Michelin Pilot Sport 4, which I know are expensive (especially on the 19" wheels you have) but they really are a great tyre and feel as good as the previous Super Sports I had on my Golf R - recommended even for the slightly extra outlay.

Not sure which provider of Remap I will go with, but I know APR & Revo are specialists in that area, did you upgrade your clutch when you had it Stage 1'd?
Will see how mach I have spent and then decide how much to spend on the tyres! I know the best option certainly is the Pilot sports, but would be touching £800 all round.
Best of luck for getting this sorted, really like these and the TTRS. Regards tyres, I’ve recently put a set of Maxxis VS01 on my 320d having heard good things about Maxxis online and am very satisfied with them. Now I know your car has more power, but I’d be perfectly happy putting them on something more powerful myself. There are a few UHP summer tyres from them available now, VS01 was just what the tyre fitter that stocks the brand near me had. Will save a fair few quid over Michelin/Pirelli.

Heard back briefly from the garage yesterday, they have a quick look as they had some spare time.
Plugging it in revealed all sorts of fault codes (20+ apparently!) one of the main being to do with the ESP, which apparently needs a whole new sensor/unit which is 400 quid! Ouch. Hoping this will also sort the magnetic suspension light - but who knows.
Having new OEM brake pads fitted, and tyres today still not 100% sure on which brand to go for, have seen a really good deal on Toyo Proxes as well as some Nankangs, but not sure on their quality.
Good news is he hopes to have it MOT'd for the weekend!

So far they have done:
- Full Diagnosis and fault code clear
- Oil Change
- Filters changed
- OEM brake pads fitted
- ESP control unit replaced
- Toyo Proxes tyres fitted all round
- MOT booked (basically been guaranteed it will pass now)
- Old locking wheel nuts removed (as I lost the key)
- New Locking wheel nuts installed
So far we are sitting at just over £1,700.00...
There was a misfire fault code and crankshaft position code, which he is going to investigate further once MOT'd. Dont think I will tell the Mrs about the costs...

Although, I understand the costs of some of that. Audi wanted £960 for OEM Disks and pads with Fluid change for my tts.
Aftermarket stuff (pagid, used previously and impressed) and a third of the costs. Mega savings to be had.

It should be ready to pick up tomorrow, which I am really excited about for having it for the weekend! Been a good 10 months since I have been able to enjoy it.
Just unsure whether to get the paintwork sorted first or to get the Stage 1 completed.
Will update with some pics when I pick it up!

Ouch, I'm guessing the Lion's share of that is the ESP control unit?So far they have done:
