Although there has been several pages in GG I thought a readers car would be in order.
Had the car a week now,done about 700 miles.
Very happy overall but of course can always find something to do!(spend money!)
GOOD:
Tidy body and interior
Everything works, climate,roof,Nav etc
Good condition leather
Pretty rattle free...slightly creaky leather
12 months MOT
2 keys
Good tyres
BAD
Smells a bit rich
Saggy rear end....just a bit though
Slightly tatty alloys
Rust on underside
Scratched drivers window
So I’ve already started in saggy rear. Bought new shock top rubbers but having removed a leg yesterday they didn’t look bad so think springs might be in order and I’ll fit new rubbers then.
Springs are cheap enough.
I’ve also had a bit of a clean around the intake and MAF. Seems a bit cleaner running. Going to do more today with the proper stuff. Will report back
Slapped a lot of paint round and about the underside also. It’s mainly suspension arms, cross members etc that are rust. Not the floor or bodywork.
It’s only been a Scottish car for about a year but was in the north of England beforehand.
I’ve got a bit more to do.

Verdict not in on the MAF cleaning. I think it's a little better but still smells a bit rich.
No other jobs done yet.
Most annoying immobiliser I've come across in recent times though. Gives you a very short window to start the car otherwise the key button has to pressed again to allow starting.

And the first proper fault arrives. I mentioned a bit of rust here and there. Nothing major but it seems the two rear exhaust hangers didn't want to stay attached anymore!
It's pretty thin metal under the spare wheel basin and I guess doesn't last that well. Funny thing is the whole area is covered in some sort of protective gunk. Anyway there are other available hangers and fixing points but still a job to get sorted.
