Total Sackcloth and Ashes department - how could I forget it!!

Thom, they varied. Two kept 8 years, one kept 1 day!

Cheers,
Ian.

Good to see you are still around McNab, does this mean that the ABD workload is dying down?

Steve,

It seems to have gone very quiet - maybe the time of year, maybe Iraq. Perhaps the next flareup won't happen until London's congestion charge. All hell will break loose then, but the outcome is completely unpredictable!

Cheers,
Ian.

Good to see the tt's turned up. Trust you're suitably frustrated during the run in period!!!

DAZ

Dazren,

Thanks! I hate the running in period, but I suppose it's vital to pay attention with a turbo because the revs rise so fast. 3,000 miles?

Midnight Blue Metallic/Grey interior. My last four cars have been dark blue (S4, Supra, C4 and now the Turbo). Meant to be unnoticeable, particularly when dirty!

Tiptronic, because I have a feeble left foot. Even so, I have to admit I like the Tip concept and would have chosen it regardless - it's good fun!

My garage told me 800 miles at upto 4K revs, then go bananas. The manual said 1,800 miles at upto 5k revs. I combined the two by sticking to the manual suggestion but keeping below 4k for the first 800 miles.

Who told you 3,000 miles? Mine had been on the Nurburgring by then.

Happy turboing.

Daz,

Must be my age ! It's been a habit for a long time, probably a throwback from C-Type days. The truth is if I tell myself 3,000 I manage restraint for about half that!

Nice to see an Aurelia on the list. I really wanted one and found a first series GT for a reasonable price, took me a week to raise the money and drive off to the pub to show off. Publican offered me double what I'd paid so ownership restricted to 20 minutes and four miles.

Paid back the loan and purchased an MGA with the profits, still lust after the Lancia but an early Apprilia would be a sore temptation...love those doors!

Thank you all for your kind welcome - much appreciated I assure you.

Now let's all feel sick together......I bought the 300SL for £2,000 and sold it two years later for?

£2,000.
