After importing a Subaru legacy which I didn't get on with at all I spent a couple of months looking at other cars. I needed something reasonably practical but still fun. Had to be more involving than the legacy which was fast but too heavy to enjoy driving. Almost bought a leon cupra but had a poor experience with a dealer so cancelled that.
Have liked these euro R's for a long time and this came up just as I was considering one again. I picked the car up from torque gt who had prepared it very well. Some of the cars they have down there are stunning, so this gave me a bit of reassurance knowing they were happy putting the car on their website even though it's at the lower end of the stuff they sell. The car has been in the UK for a few years and has loads of paperwork from a very good specialist near me which is a bonus as I will take it back there for any work . It's also been fully under sealed and looks clean but I will be getting retreated next year to ensure it stays in good condition. Other than that it drives brilliantly and I don't have much planned for it other than maybe drivers seat bolsters being redone and general servicing. Only really have pictures from torque gt but intend to get some more when I have time to give the car a good clean.

I'm a big fan of these, and quick Honda's as a whole to be fair. This looks really clean! I would recommend an exhaust/induction kit though, the K20 always sounds immense with a couple of basic breathing mods.
What do you recommend? I did think about that, it's very quiet.stepmeek said:

IMO to get the best out of that now, some simple mods will make a serious change:
Short shifter kit
SolidFab exhaust, manifold back IMO
AEM or similar air intake
A fast road set up with adjustable camber arms etc
Brake discs and pads overhaul along with braided lines (EBC, Mtec, StopTech discs with something like Ferodo DS2500 pads)

That's good info cheers. As the car shares bits with dc5 integra I don't think parts should be a problem. Brakes is probably my priority But think I will wait until I have done my first track day with it.IMO to get the best out of that now, some simple mods will make a serious change:

TDI North are a safe bet for aftermarket bits that aren't overpriced or cheap Chinese that. For genuine parts try Cox Honda, they're a main dealer but really good on prices, unlike Tegiw
k who claim to do Honda parts cheap but even my local Honda dealer in Stoke are cheaper than they are...

Owned one for over 3 years now, done some track days, numerous Wales weekends, even a 2700 mile trip down to the Alps and the Dolomites (including the Mille Miglia).
My reader's car thread is here if you have a bit of time to read – https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
Feel free to ask any questions.
Depending on what you want from the car, there are few things I would do modification wise to start with:
As others have said, bring that K20 alive with intake and exhaust.
Desperately underbraked from factory – so a BBK, or a cheaper option is the two-pot conversion from a CH1 ATR.
Progress RARB

Hi mate, yeah I have read through your thread before buying. It's one of the few useful things that comes up when you Google these cars! I might send you a PM when I get round to buying bits for it, probably next year now though.Owned one for over 3 years now, done some track days, numerous Wales weekends, even a 2700 mile trip down to the Alps and the Dolomites (including the Mille Miglia).

Best thing I did to my BB8 Prelude years back. 300mm discs from Mtec, Ferodo DS2500 pads and HEL lines. Car stopped brilliantly Desperately underbraked from factory – so a BBK, or a cheaper option is the two-pot conversion from a CH1 ATR.
Are the DC5 Brembos not compatible with the Euro R? I'd say there are a few ex EP3 CTR BBKs about, might be worth looking into?

DC5 Brembos work with a custom carrier, as do a number of other Brembo setups, but personally if I was spending £500 on a set of calipers, plus custom brackets and so on, I'd just save the extra for a BBK.Are the DC5 Brembos not compatible with the Euro R? Number of BBK's for Accord to choose from. Other alternatives are the two-pot calipers from a UK ATR – this is what I've done, with some PBS pads, Goodridge lines and fresh Motul RBF600 – stops okay! But a BBK is just another level of stopping power.
