They made 200 “AMR” cars to launch the new 7 speed
Dogleg Manual. Of those 141 are “Hero” cars in a few colours. The remaining 59 are “Halo” or “59” spec in tribute to the 1959 win at Le Mans.

All street legal. This one is mine.

Sounds interesting and a manual, that is rare nowadays. AM really are killing it nowadays with there offerings.

Is it your first AM?

How does it compare to the auto? Will you be tracking it?

Looking forward to hearing more about this one. Great photos too, the seats are so much better (and feel nicer) when they're not full leather. Curious to see how you get on with the manual gearbox.

I had it on Stowe in 18 hours smile . It was in the rain so a really good test of the new layout. I honestly can't fault it so far. going from 50:50 to 51:49 on the balance is just not noticeable to someone at my skill level. I was lucky to have the team who did the car setup show me how to use the 7 speed and now (after a couple of days and 500 miles) I am not missing shifts at all.

It feel different to the auto. lighter. more direct. more dependent on me to do something right. I feel the auto was a little disconnected. Trust me you will not feel that way in an AMR. It reminds me of driving the 2013 a lot more!

After the initial brain rewiring to learn how to get 2nd... it's fine now. First gear is harsh to get into but that's as it should be. I've only gotten close to putting the car in R once but the AMShift warned me before completely in the gate.

Oh wow that looks incredible and perfectly specified!

I know it doesn't quite compare but my old BMW has a dogleg first and it really is strange at first, mainly getting it in and out of the garage, nearly reversed it into a wall a couple of times!

Any pics of the car in action or videos?
