How come you didn't start with the RS?
I think that would have been the direction I'd have gone in. The OP clearly loves performance so the RS might have been a better shout to start with. Good thread OP and I was sad to read about your woes with the engine. Looking forward to seeing how it all pans out for you and I wish you all the best.

Good read mate and interested to see what power figures you end up at.

Probably the same reason I got an S3 over a rs3, the rs range is mental money to buy and modding them is even more expensive. With what you save on buying one you can make the lower model as fast with better all round package How come you didn't start with the RS?
Applaud the OP, not sure SWMBO would have let me go down this path. At least not whilst still retaining my man-vegetables...
Also refreshing to see the work done on a roadster rather than the usual default coupe!
This has made me look at Litchfield, as they do conversions on the RS3 2.5, and which seem reasonably priced.
I wonder if this might have been a better bet than the original tuner (pre-supposing that they detected the injector was beginning to fail?)

If it helps to hear this my wife’s bogo 2010 roadster engine had to be swapped out at 70k, std not tuned or messed with in any shape or form, owned from new, with all services to Audi schedule, was drinking oil.
Meanwhile my mini r53 2005 had every upgrade conceivable and was pushing over 100 bhp more than factory power on oem internals past 143k and was still going strong when sold.
Factory 3/4 respray foc from mini at 8 years for some paint issue worth about 3k according to body shop manager
Audi help for borked engine...nowt at 4years old,
5k+ bill for new factory engine installed by good independent

I'm not a big fan of cosmetic changes, (prefer performance upgrades). I only went as far as debadging but I'm starting to wonder whether it's worth putting them back on?!
Funnily enough, im thinking of removing the rings from the bonnet of my TTS - I think it looks smart, and makes it easier polishing!I'd keep the rear badges on I think.
What make is the exhaust, and how much £££?

Yeah it does look better on the front I think, but the back just looks too plain and almost weird with nothing there.
It's a Scorpion Valved exhaust, not sure if I can post links but it's this one https://www.scorpion-exhausts.com/audi-tt-tts-mk3-...
I paid £1300 plus vat which included fitting. I'm also running the Scorpion downpipe too. Although I'm likely going to change it for a 4inch version that Tracksl*g do.
Ta - still sounds quite muted doesn't it? Maybe on your beast it'll be a bit louder! It's a Scorpion Valved exhaust, not sure if I can post links but it's this one https://www.scorpion-exhausts.com/audi-tt-tts-mk3-...

Really like the TTS, sad to hear of your problems. Surprising as the EA888 engine has been put in everything and I thought was generally pretty reliable; even in tuned form.
TTS is on my list for a test drive in the summer when I replace the mini... also so is the S1 which appears in your picture above.
