R33 GTR V-Spec UK car #34
ex. Middlehurst & Abbey built, fully forged- 550hp conservative tune.
Came to Croatia, imported by Denis@AutoPartes, who does car restos. Was his own personal car, had a full nut and bolt resto (1000+ hours) at great expense. I'm due to pick it up soon after another refresh having been in storage for 2 years. The paint has been refreshed last week, now the car is being put back together. Since the resto it has done about 2000 miles. Probably be hard pressed to find a cleaner one.
Plenty planned in the coming months - will add more details if there is interest

Crikey. That's striking.
I'm looking to get back into something Jap and turbo at the moment, and I'm worried that R33s are slipping away from being affordable, to the point that they will be difficult to justify when an average car becomes £30k+.

The R33 shape looks ace in millenium jade. I love the way the engine cam/ignition module covers have been painted to match the NUR spec engine in the R34 NUR.
With 550bhp I bet it’s lively, I drove an R32 with 450bhp a few years ago and that felt quick!
Has the gap between the strut tops and inner wing been sealed on this car?
Lovely car.
Edited to add has it got a twin plate clutch in it?

Yep, it is going to become difficult especially as they are preferred to the R32 in the USA and now being 25 year eligible for importI'm looking to get back into something Jap and turbo at the moment, and I'm worried that R33s are slipping away from being affordable, to the point that they will be difficult to justify when an average car becomes £30k+.

Also worth bearing in mind that the cost of the car is only a small part of the purchasing if you start modding, and a full restoration of 1000 hours starts to add up when you consider labour costs
This makes my car a bargain ... https://prestigemotorsport.com.au/2002-r34-gtr-vsp... $343k AUD

Stunning, I always have a lot more appreciation for people who build cars that are super clean on the underside as well and not just a shiny paint job on a rusty chassis.
I'd be content with a R33 GTS-T these days, stupidly I thought there were better cars out there when you could pick one up for £3-5k but hindsight suggests i may have spent too much on ol German stuff.

Emtron KV8 standalone ECU upgrade (replace the old HKS F Con V Pro - which is like a ZX Spectrum in comparison, also makes the HKS AFK and boost controllers redundant) . The latest injector tech will also be used, replacing the HKS 720cc, which also stops the black soot, as these are known for, no matter how you tune. This will upgrade the engine to the latest in engine management with torque targets and new wideband sensors, etc. Should make it much more driveable part throttle and it can then run much less rich. We should then see 580-600hp with much improved fuel economy, without too many problems.
Full car security system with immob/tracker/proximity alarm and separate keyfob for anti-jacking
Probably going to put the oem seat back in because the Bride is for skinnier, fitter people
New wheels to go on as well
Might do something with the interior next year, alcantara head lining, leather dash, sort the headunit by relocating the A/C controls and having a double din

Looks like the engine is a really good spec and built by Abbey Motorsport as well. I bet your over the moon with It.
If I owned that car I would pretty much do the same, some cosmetic mods to put my stamp on it and update the ECU and injectors to make it run better, and it could run VVT so you could run the HKS V cam system off it with the correct mapping but that’s £££. Improves spool and low rev response.
Looks like this car is in the right hands! Keep us updated

It’s lovely to see such care and attention lavished on an R33 as so many focus on the BNCR32 and the BNCR34 models.

Thanks, personally I think they’re a lot more up to date than the 32, and less boxy than the 34. The Americans seem to love the 33 as it provides almost as much as the 34 for less money. The drive chain is updated and they are less attached to the Australian racing heritage.Looks like the engine is a really good spec and built by Abbey Motorsport as well. When you're getting into the same price bracket as stuff like Evoras, DB9s and Cayman Rs, you'd have to really want a Skyline to pick one.

Yep, that's one way of looking at it. I could have bought an R35 for the same price, and even an old Ferrari. But, nothing is quite the same in terms of driving experience and if you have people local to you who are experts in looking after the car, this is most of the battle won. What I want to avoid is a large paperweight no one can support. The R35 is too advanced, where I am, Evora's don't exist and DB9's are just waiting to bankrupt you. Plus, the aftermarket community is so vast and every problem you can ever experience has been solved 10x over. You can look at the car as an adult Lego set - for someone who likes to fiddle, improve, etc. I probably wouldn't touch any of those cars you've highlighted, for the bork factor is too high. When you're getting into the same price bracket as stuff like Evoras, DB9s and Cayman Rs, you'd have to really want a Skyline to pick one.
So I suppose this is the attraction.
