I’ve bought a 2009 Range Rover Vogue!
Discussion
Hello!
This could end one of two ways, badly or really badly....
2009 Range Rover Vogue, 3.6 TDV8:

Usual Vogue spec (ie everything but cooled seats & rear entertainment screens).
This particular example is in ‘Bournville Brown’ which is a beautiful colour - brown / black / purple depending on the light. Interior is Ivory with the upgraded steering wheel...

Car has done 109k miles with full history and in extremely good condition, just the leather seats that require some attention as the front seats are starting to crack.
I’ve recently taken it to a specialist nearby for some preventative maintenance; both differential oils changed, transfer box and transmission full flush - had the engine oil and filter changed while it was in.
Fingers crossed for some comfortable wafting, though I am fully expecting some bumps along the road
Please share your Range Rover experiences, good and bad!

Watching from afar. Would love one of these to replace my rapidly lightening/oxidising TD5 Disco....
I’m not brave enough to follow you - when my TD5 D2 goes over the rusty bridge (hopefully in no less than five years) I hope to be able to buy a new “new” five year old Defender 90 in the expectation that it’ll see me out,. Time will tell.
Very nice, my search is ongoing for a FFRR. Looking for a TDV8 also, hoping to stretch to the 4.4 but not ruling out the 3.6.
I do like the 'not black' variants and would love a bronze over chocolate interior but they seem rare as hens teeth.
What do you mean by upgraded steering wheel?

Well done, excellent cars. Air suspension went on mine, about £1K to replace.
Never ever buy a RR with air suspension. I was told mine would go before it hit 100k miles......went at 102k! Edited by CAPP0 on Sunday 21st June 11:06

Thank you for your comments so far!
My main point of advice with spec would be try and find one without privacy glass - I personally think they look so much better.
The ‘upgraded’ steering wheel was actually listed by the supplying dealer as an autobiography steering wheel. It has the aluminium details on the four spokes, and (I think) slightly higher quality leather on the wheel itself.
My steering wheel:

Standard L322 steering wheel (random image found on Google images):

I only mentioned it as I like to think it’s an extra detail that makes my Range Rover more unique than others!

The budget I’d allowed myself for a RR didn’t stretch to any with the 4.4 - my understanding is that the 4.4 is a very very good engine though, especially coupled with the 8 speed box (3.6 has the 6 speed box) I do like the 'not black' variants and would love a bronze over chocolate interior but they seem rare as hens teeth.

Ah right I see, thanks! The options and specs change year to year is baffling tbh, trying to shortlist what I want (everything) and what I need (reality).
I gather the 3.6 is a fine unit but can suffer with turbo issues which is ultimately caused from blocked/knackered egr valves. It would appear a blanking kit is good insurance for this but requires tuning out to prevent CEL illumination.
I’m no expert and on the start of my RR journey but thought it worth a mention.

Looks great! I do like a range rover.
Had a 2002 TD6 HSE years back which I thought was great, I have read they were slow but seemed fine to me. No issues with that one. Not so lucky with a P38 I had before it or my current 2010 autobiography. Had a rear door jammed locked shut within days of getting it (a common issue the dealer tells me) and needed a new brake caliper after a piston seized (£1200 on a supercharged)

Looking through autotrader its either a very common upgrade... or a facelift feature.Had a 2002 TD6 HSE years back which I thought was great, I have read they were slow but seemed fine to me.
