Last night I won a 1986 Citroen CX diesel in a roffle which will need collecting at some point. This thread is to document the experience.

Sounds like absolute madness, but I had to laugh as I read your post as you won it in a 'ROFL' which sounds entirely plausible laugh

Good luck with it wink

The plan at the moment is collection of the CX will be late next week or some point the week after, I will look at how much it will cost to transport as no MOT and get my friendly local garage to put it through an MOT, the result of the MOT determines what happens after that.

The CX. I'm told mechanically it's in good shape and has had a lot of money spent however the bodywork is a bit tatty

Judging by the pic I am not sure the term “winning” is appropriate. laugh

Theres a really nice black CX GTI Turbo for sale that I keep looking at, wishing I was brave enough to buy and use as a daily.

LHD drive as well - you'll just need a gauloise and a shrug to go with it....

I'd like to change my vote - As much as I love a CX, I'm not sure who the winner is here...

I’d be happy if I won that! Mrs Fast Bug probably wouldn’t be though...

We had three and they were truly awesome things.

One, my dad drove at 70 mph down the M6 with a completely flat, rear tyre for 10 miles.
It still drove in a perfectly straight line, DIRAVI, and eventually just sounded like a dodgy road service.

Another one, I borrowed when my van was off the road and discovered a double 12 ladder would fit inside with the tailgate closed.

Enjoy.

I'm guessing both Eyersey1234 & the competition/raffle organisation were both winners

I ran CX DTR Safari's for about 10 years and many thousands of miles, brilliant cars. The first really refined diesels and superb steering and handling. There was a saying about when I bought my first one that ' if you drove one for less than half an hour you would never want to drive it again and if you drove it for more than half an hour you would never want to drive anything else' I fell into the latter category. They really were different but once you got used to them, fantastic.
