Just realised never posted anything about my 981 so here goes; Purchased this in 2018, 1 owner from new from OPC.

2015 Cayman S with a hell of a lot of spec from factory, I paid OPC to add cruise control before I picked it up

I initially started looking at 987.2 cars, then earlier 981 but was adamant that I wanted PSE and Sport Crono, nearly settled for a car at OPC Glasgow which was £8k less but then this cropped up with a lot more spec. In the end ended up spending a lot more than I had planned!

Within a few days I had a few bits done, firstly Porsche 718 LED sidelights
before

after

plastidip rear lettering

first trip to work

Then came GTS style black front bumper (GTS bumper was factory fitted) and removal of plate plinth for a vinyl plate

zunsport grilles

car has Gtechniq

So I took the car on a roadtrip

MK > Koln > Stuttgart > Innsbruck > Maranello > UK

Circa 3,000miles absolutely spot on, car turned many heads (mainly because of the noise)

cars running race headers and Stage 2 software from COBB as well.

Wheels are the only thing I'd change haha.

Love these, think the 981 actually looks a bit more masculine than the 718. 911s are getting so big these days the Cayman just makes more and more sense! I've never driven one but they are very tempting.

We visited Schumacher collection, Porsche factory (museum was closed), Sinsheim museum (pit stop and to see the Tupolev), Ferrari.

Lovely car OP, not seen many in red but really suits it.

Did you fit the headers and Cobb or were they on when you bought it?

Only asking as interested to hear what the difference is like over stock as considering doing the same to my 987.2 S

Fitted myself, I ran stage 1 COBB straight away and yeh made a big difference (stock car felt flat, my previous car was 420PS FWD).

I then fitted headers and stage 2 and its a complete different car, with PSE turned on its very loud.

Started getting it ready for a run up the NC500 next week, downside of running race headers is the mess that burns into the ceramic, quick was with snowfoam wont bring it off

Quick spray of some Gtechniq fall out remover and some elbow grease

Got to do the rest of the car tomorrow.

So I only did the inside yesterday as was too windy, I'm up at 7am to do the outside today before setting off for the NC500!

So yeh what a state! I used to clean my cars every weekend then adult things got in the way:

much nicer

Lovely car. I’ve had a GTS manual since Friday. The sound is intoxicating. Picked it up in the rain which was fun to say the least.

Not sure what exhaust set up you've got but I'm running PSE but with raceheaders its amazing.

991 and 981 are the same width mirror to mirror.

The 718 is wider than the 991.

Depends what model, some of the 991 are wider than the Cayman, Turbo and GT3 for example.

Nope same width mirror to mirror as I said.

But yes the Turbo and GT3 are wider at the rear arches but I will confirm it is of no significance whatsoever in normal driving circumstances on the road.

I’ve got PSE I’m the third owner and it’s only done 10,000 miles which is more like my annual mileage.

I’m convinced it’s had something done to it because no car sounds that good out of the factory laugh
