hi guys

Been a while since I posted so I thought I would update my content.
I still have the daily C6 RS6 which is an absolute dream and has needed nothing in 3 years except oil and tyres!

I've always fancied a supercharged R53 Mini Cooper S and so 18 months ago I bought a late model 55 plate in Hyper Blue.
Here is the initial picture of it sitting on later model alloys and aero black grill - other than that standard

These are great for customising to your own taste and so I got the bit between my teeth and entered the world of Minis!!

First job was to start dechroming so I bought some belt line black tape as well as a can of plastic dip and got to work on the headlights and chrome line around the windows. At the same time I came across a set of MG ZR Straights 17 inch on ebay for 100 quid and transformed them with some rattle cans!

These cars are supposed to handle amazingly but to be honest I found everything a bit lose.
A 40mm drop on some H&R springs sorted this out and now it handles like a go kart. The addition of some checker vinyl added at least 40 HP!

Next up came another set of wheels - this time very rare 18 inch Mini split rims which I think totally transformed the car. i put these on an left the car for 6 months as is, just enjoying it!

I got bored during lockdown and needed some more garage time so set about some bigger mods.
First thing was to rattle can the split rims - for a home refurb I am delighted - I left the outers in silver and did the insides in anthracite. looks great!

But these things dont stop........

I then started looking for some Aero side skirts and found a set in red on ebay. Getting very confident in my rattle can spraying I set about changing the colour to Hyper blue and then spent the morning fitting them:

Old skirts off

New ones on:

Much much better I think! And makes the car look lower!
At some point I coloured coded the brake calipers yellow too and added some yellow details around the car!

Next came some more blacking out - took the headlights and rears apart and dechromed them (for some reason called a "Joey Mod" in Mini circles!!

Before

After

Then it was time to tackle the interior!
First were the awful standard seats - although they were leather they were terrible so I invested in some nice buckets which I adapted to use the standard Mini runners! Totally transformed the car inside:

Couldnt rest there so proceeded to spray the inside of the dash with more rattle cans and also remove the rear seats and fabricate a rear seat delete!

Everything was then topped off by a larger intercooler and a trip to 1320 Mini for 17% reduction on the supercharger pulley and she now puts out around 200 BHP, up from the standard 170.

That brings me up to date - I think she looks great. Only thing left to fit this weekend is a centre strip down the bonnet in matt black with yellow accents!

Hope you like it!

That really does look good. You’ve done some excellent work there.

I’ve never been in one, are they quite raw or are they refined for a small car?
