Lovely car mate.
I saw you running it at Santa Pod, although only on the live stream.
It was me that asked the commentator to stop calling it a SHIMITAR !! biggrin

Good shout Pal, and he took notice and changed his pronunciation at my 3rd run, was considering putting 'SHIMMYTAR' in the rear screen if I ever get it significantly quicker, happy that Greggs post more than anything, got the car more commentator time than most of the cars there, enjoyable day apart from the weather, I think I could have just got into the 14's the way it is at the moment given a couple more runs. My first time on the quarter, a lot to learn. my target is low 13's high 12's end of next year. so a lot of work to do.
cheers
Paul

Its a ford 302 V8 of 74 vintage, mild build (not sure of the actual cam spec), when bought the guy who built it (get in touch thru here if you're readin' this Gregg) claimed around 260 bhp and high 13's, so highly believable), bought as a 'box of bits' with the same motor build and box/ running gear but long term rebuild of body and bits and bobs has led to some changes mainly ignition system and set up so it currently only feels like around 200 horse (borne out by the times, mid 15,s) was also I was struggling to hit 3rd gear cleanly at the weekend (I've just rebuilt the borg warner t5 as it was whining heavily last year) I have a few ideas that should get it solidly in the low 14's with current motor but also have an lsd and a K27 turbo on the loft and some fresh headers on order...... add some spray and that's basically my plan for 12's. all this has to pass the wife's veto of course!! its currently a really enjoyable car to drive on the road, plenty of torque, but the visit to the strip is very addictive, wanna go faster, and beat some of the more modern tackle that is just so quick out of the box.
Sorry, you asked for more detail.
If you see me at the strip, glad to have a chat

It's a borg warner T5. Just given it a rebuild cos it was a bit whiney. But is a bit reluctant to go into 3rd quickly now so a bit more work required.
