2020 MINI Countryman JCW
Discussion
Not quite my car but my wife’s:

A 2020 JCW Countryman, one of the last pre-LCI examples and therefore had at a great price with 0% finance etc.
After a month and a 1000 miles I’ve become quite attached to it, it’s more fun than a small SUV has any right to be! We also tried the Cupra Ateca but preferred the MINI hands down mainly on overall feel and interior quality. The MINI feels quite playful and childish, fire it down a B road and it feels like a proper hot hatch and shrinks around you and you forget that you can carry all the family crap and a dog!
Performance is lively, not rocket ship quick but certainly enough to get you into trouble with the law quite quickly and definitely amusing at the traffic lights when people clearly don’t expect it. Proper mechanical LSD on the front axle is a nice inclusion and certainly works well, really pulling you through the corner under large throttle openings which would otherwise be lighting up the inside wheel.
Fuel consumption isn’t great, averaging 22mpg over its life so far but it does mainly short journeys at the moment with the occasional squirt out into the countryside just for fun. On the motorway the trip computer suggests high 30s are possible.
Overall very happy with it, would buy again!

I like the look of these, different, but still fairly sensible.
This clubman was bought for £12k less than alleged list after 7 months, did you do better?

Interior pics? And does it have frame less windows? I found that made road noise annoying on the smaller minis.

We didn’t quite do as well as the Clubman, more like £4.5k although this was brand new, unregistered with 14 miles on it. I’ll get some interior pics, this has the MINI Yours Lounge leather rather than the JCW seats which I was a little dubious about at first but definitely the best choice for us. Looks very nice OP, these are practical little cars and can shift if they need to.
How do you find the ride? We had a Cooper S version with the JCW kit and the suspension was very hard.
It’s definitely firm, this has the 18s rather than the optional 19s which helps. One of the reasons I preferred the 18s, the 19s look great though. How do you find the ride? We had a Cooper S version with the JCW kit and the suspension was very hard.
