My 1987 vauxhall nova
Discussion
Couple pics of my little nova 1987 1.2 merit that i have fitted a z16se 1.6 8v bottom end nova gte head, newman cam, tripple angle cut valves, stainless exhaust manifold and full system and a set of twin 40s, just been set up and running 136bhp, 112 at the wheels and 113ftlbs of torque not phone number figures but she drives amazing, will post pics of other projects i have up very soon been told this is a good forum to be on so look forward to get nosing about 👍👍👍
My first car was a Nova Sport running the Twin 40s' that came in boot with the rest of the kit - swear that little 1.3 only did about 25mpg at best, sounded like a Messerschmitt according to the colleague I used to pass on the way home
I'd always thought of replacing the 1.3 with a 1.6 but in the end it went to cover the cost of insuring the next car, Astra GTE.
I bet it handles better than running the C20XE engine up front as well

Cheers guys suspension is still to be done its only cheap coilovers fitted, will be putting gaz coilovers on it with the true coilover setup on the rear and i have some astra gte brakes to be fitted, and yeh handles pretty good i think a good lsd will be getting purchased next year as it loves to light up one wheel and drag you over the road 😂

I'd would recommend investing in some polybushes in the suspension if not already done.
Decent amount of power like this, the rubber bushes would likely start to degrade pretty rapidly, if not failed would only exacerbate the torque steer issue, a good LSD such as a Gripper plate type would be a bit better than an ATB type from somewhere like Quaife, especially if the inside wheel lifts.
Also seems KW do carry an option for the Nova , Stainless steel construction and TUV approved. be it under the Opel Corsa brand - https://www.kwsuspensions.co.uk/shop/OPEL_CORSA_A_...S8309_1982-03_1993_S83_1.4_S_Petrol_53KW_1389ccm_Nz*fiCGE7ee-Jk7vvKWNuA../56/Street_Performance
V1 = fixed rate but would have been fine tuned for the car.
V3 = adjustable bound and rebound.
Just a few suggestions for good quality parts and would make the car a decent little gokart.
