Lamborghini Aventador
Discussion
As some of you may know, I won this car and £5k in August 2020 through an online car raffle competition.
Since then I’ve put 5k miles on the car and enjoyed a every minute of it.
It has 26k miles on it now.
I thought I’d pop a post on with a bit about it, boring but it’s something to look back on.
It was owned previously by Wilfred Zaha of Crystal Palace.
It’s a 2013 with a 6.5 V12 and Semi Automatic transmission.
It came wrapped in Satin blue and is pearl orange underneath.
It also has 20”/21” Apptech forged alloys, Novitec carbon rear wing and a switchable Capristo titanium exhaust system.
I’ve had a service done at Lamborghini in Edinburgh at a cost of £3,800.
New pads are being fitted next week and cost £2300.
Despite costing me a bit of money I’ll still be money up obviously when I sell it this year.
It’s been great fun and a great car compared to my GLE and Escalade
One thing I’ve realised is everyone loves a Lambo and young people and old people enjoy it. But you can’t go anywhere without being sent a video of it wherever you are. It’s also quite loud and in some situations it’s embarrassing to get out of it when you’re just popping into a shop or supermarket. It’s always an event.
Then again, it was an event for me to see one every time I seen one.
That being said, it’s crazy how you become used to just having a car like this. You quickly adapt and it just becomes a ‘car’ rather than being a super car or Lambo.
Hope this passed a couple minutes to read and I’m happy to answer any questions from a non rich persons point of view
Cheers,
John

Congratulations on winning the car it's a absolute beauty.
Not sure non rich people would be able to drop over £6k on brakes and servicing for their car though lol
Interesting about Zaha owning it also, thought these are always new cars that are in the competition.
Obviously I’m not familiar with the op’s financial situation, but He also won 5k cash for maintenance so it is probably worth paying the extra 1000 or so to keep the service history up together on a car of such value Not sure non rich people would be able to drop over £6k on brakes and servicing for their car though lol

Awesome, congratulations! I never bother entering the supercar ones as I have no where to really keep it and would feel a plonker just doing my 5 mile commute to work in it!
Get that wrap off
How much was insurance lol?
I’ve got a small unit where I keep it with my other cars and jet ski etc.Get that wrap off

I like the blue rather than the orange to be honest.
Insurance was £1080 fully comp, with 2 additional drivers. I’m 32 with 14 years NCB.

As said, I’m not rich but do ok with my business. But it’s worth finding the money if you had to to keep up with the history for resale sake.

Awesome stuff. Having had something this silly, would you sell it and buy something like a Gallardo or Huracan and pocket the difference to keep the “special car” experience going, or has it scratched an itch / is too much bother really?
Way too much bother.I’m still youngish at 32 but I’d much rather a comfy capable car now compared to a loud, shouty car.
I’m very grateful but wouldn’t replace it with anything similar in a hurry either..if that makes sense?

Impressive amount of miles in that time! Have you done any Euro road trips? If not, you should before you sell it. Since then I’ve put 5k miles on the car and enjoyed a every minute of it.
