Hi All... This is my Millennium Puma that someone very kindly gifted me... Hopefully you will see it's restoration journey over the coming year back to it's former glory...

haha - Yes... They are prone to rusting round the rear arches and wheel well... I have just completed a full resto on a standard Puma... Fortunately Ex-Pressed Panels are now producing rear arch repair panels and sills which makes life a lot easier
The Millie is complete and still has the Recaros... It even has a brand new set of 'Millennium Products' wheel trims which was nice...
It's going for a polish next week then a service, new cambelt and water pump plus two new front tyres.... MOT is due mid-March...
Then once it's MOT'd I'll have a better idea what's going to be required sorting first

1.7 Zetec engine is the pic of the bunch.

Can you tell us more about it? What distinguishes the millennium spec?

Millennium

Years available: 1999(V) to 2000(X)

Quantity produced: 1000

Peak quantity registered with DVLA (UK): 899 (2001 Q4)[3]

Quantity remaining registered with DVLA (UK): 348 (including 219 that are SORN) as of Q3 2019[3]

The Ford Millennium Edition cars were produced to commemorate the Millennium Products Award from the Design Council [6] in 1999 for being 'The first Ford in Britain designed solely on computer and in record time.' The Millennium Edition Puma featured eye-catching Zinc Yellow paintwork, and an Alchemy Blue (dark/navy blue) leather interior with Recaro seats. A numbered badge and keyring were available upon purchase from Ford, but the cars were not automatically numbered.

Very nice! Good to see another Puma being saved. See my thread for what I've been up to, I've saved it twice now biggrin Yours looks rather better than mine. If you need any parts I know of a specific Puma breaker very local to me and I can put you in touch.

I'd go as far as to say the 1.6 was the worst of the bunch....but that's a little bit like saying "ugliest supermodel". rofl

Out of interest, do the Recaros give you any more room? My only real complaint (apart from the rust) is that I cannot get the seat in the right place. I can either have it as I want it, or see the dials and out of the windscreen.

Looks can be deceptive lol
Strangely the passenger side wheel arch is worse than the drivers side...
That would be great... Every little helps... I have just completed my sons Puma... I bought it to teach him to drive and was bitten by the bug...

I can't believe these are twenty one years old now. I remember going to our local Ford dealer in Halifax with a mate to take a look at one when they were launched.

Didn't they also do a Focus 'Millenium' Edition?

They are considerably more supportive and are electric so do move down a bit...
I have Recaro's in both of my Pumas so can't say for certain - Sorry...

Cracking little cars becoming quite rare now I guess due to their love of rusting.

Good luck with the restoration!

Lovely! Very similar colour to BMWs Dakar in this one.

Lovely. The Recaros are meant to be much more supportive - the standard leather seats are pretty flat! I tried to pick up a Millie from the local auction to break and nab the seats (it was a no MoT rotter) but two(!) car accidents on the rural roads on the way made me about two minutes too late.

Gutted!
