I like reading about other peoples cars so I thought I should try and make an effort. Like us all I have always loved my cars. Previously had a few bits and bobs but two years without a fun car I was looking around but not that bothered..
Then I took my mate on a 400 mile round trip to pick up a Tiger kit car. My boring diesel A3 in the background.

Great fun and it got my interest. I have always wanted a Caterham 7 but never driven one. Off I went to my local Lotus/ Caterham dealer and test drove a low powered one.

I absolutely loved it. But was a little bit slow so I ended up looking at a 420R in the showroom. Hell of a car but looking at it I thought well I don’t really get much for my money and I can’t really see me using it much. Couldn’t see the mrs getting init for example.
This is where I think I excelled with man maths. I thought well a GT4 has always been a bit of a dream car for me. Mid engined 2 seater that I like, first Porsche and first proper engine. It could do everything, B road blast, road trip with the mrs and even a track day if I ever fancied it. So I went from a £7k kit car to a GT4...
I purchased the car in October but have hardly driven it since with the bad weather. Hoping to get it out next month.

The only real drive I have had of it in the Peak District with the mrs.

Tucked up in the garage. I have cleaned it more than anything and just tinkered about in the garage.

I absolutely love the seats!
Hopefully will be able to update this thread when I can actually start using it in the better weather/ not in lock down. Driving impressions are that I love the noise it makes, steering is very good for electric. Not a patch on a Lotus though. Brakes are good and it just feels a nice place to be.
Funnily enough I really did think about a V6 Exige as well but I thought this would just be a little bit more practical and I would use it more.

I have been to Wolverhampton Porsche today and put an OPC warranty on the car. Absolutely brilliant service from them. I had a Cayenne S courtesy car, I have never driven a 4x4 before not really my thing but what a stunning machine! Would love one as a daily or possibly a Maccan with those being a little smaller.
Nothing to update really apart from I need to start using it more. Have been to a few local meets (6 and 8’s if anyone is local to Stoke, it’s organised on Facebook I think but I don’t have it so rely on my mates telling me it is on) Usually a good mix of cars.
Had a drive out in the Peak District last night enjoyed it. It’s a brilliant car but I wish I’d of gone for something a little bit harder as I hardly use it. Exige V6 or Caterham or maybe even a BAC Mono but I think they are out of my budget!
