Hi. Firstly sorry for the Jaaaaag in the title but that's the law isn't it?
So I was looking at a later shape XK/XKR, either the 4.2 or 5.0, as a little toy following some inheritance.

Following a change of plans and the possibility of purchasing 1/2 btl's I decided not to drop best part of £20k on a toy. Yet...!

Anyway fast forward to 2 weeks ago and my mrs (who has zero interest in cars unless it's a Jaaaaag) pointed this one out with a for sale sign in the window round the corner.
Truth be told i'd seen it but nearly every time i've looked for a Jag this shape it has been a 3.2. And it has to be the 4.0 right?!! Sovereign badge should have given it away....
Fast forward about 20 minutes to Mr C snr and I having a good look round it before literally going home and raiding the cupboards for £1600 cash... and bought. Just like that!!!!

Drives fantastic -
Bad points: Headlining has been pinned up but as a bodge it's quite good, few tiny scuffs round the corners.
Sticky O/S passenger door lock.
Aircon needs a regas.

Other than that we are really happy. Exhaust/fuel tank/her general undercrackers all look great. It has green leather dash and door cappings which i've quickly warmed to. And an awesome in car phone...

It's going to be a father/son rolling tinker mobile to use at the weekend, go fly fishing in and use on the odd road trip.

101000 miles when collected and a HUUUGE history pack and stack of receipts.
Put it on here mainly for myself to document as I go and hopefully provide some boredom material for other Jaaaaag/barge fans

Now some piccies

Mr C snr and I having a giggle and a 'what have we done' moment

Looks cracking that. My dad had one fairly similar that I used to drive. Enjoy!

Excellent work!

I too am running a cheap XJ for similar money, although in X350 flavour. Love the sleeker shape in the X308.

I've had mine since Feburary 2019, it's used as my ownly car and has been the most reliable thing i've owned. Mechanically i've had to sort out a wheel bearing which turned out to be a nightmare because the so called specialists either couldn't be arsed or bounced around on prices so I did it myself. Did have bore wash last year which was from it sitting around for a few months during our first lockdown.

Mine is used nearly every day so it's not perfect, it's got a saggy headliner which i've pinned up, the anntena doesn't go up anymore, rust on all the arches now and a missing hubcap so I just removed them all so it looks more 'sporty' hahaha. The photo is the day after I bought it, £840, full service history and loads of reciepts, just a shame it's a poverty spec.

Excellent. I'm considering one as a daily (although probably one of the earlier straight 6 cars) to go alongside my 4.0 XKR.

Hopefully not but that's all part of the fun!!
Getting used tomorrow to pick my nephew up from school, i've made sure he's a bit of a petrolhead.

These arrived today to freshen up the rear...

That’s a bargain - the red/green colour scheme would have been a brave specification at the dealers, but somehow works.
Ageless plate on that and people would think that was a lot more expensive

Been a bit quiet on here of late due to work. Not done anything other than an aircon regas how I did take the big cat on her first road trip. 730 miles up to Harrogate, over to the lakes then back via the Tan Hill Inn, Englands highest pub!!

Averaged 28.1 over the whole trip if anyone interested and was faultless. Proper mile muncher!!

At the hotel in Harrogate

Nice weekender with her in Lymington, really want a boat like snowy two on the right... damn being poor!!!

Need air conditioning fixed in the Jaaaaag, any recommendations for places in Kent/Bromley border? Had it topped but lasted about as long as me after a few beers...

So, bit of a delay since last post. Had lots good and bad going on, flipside of which I have 'some' spare fundage to use on the jaaaaag. Why save when I can waste on car parts and super-plus...

Been used a fair bit actually as the gearbox in my vRS lunched itself and the bikes fuel pump hit retirement. 4000 mile limit is approaching...

Anyhoo, my O/S/R door won't open. Central locking does nada and won't open inside via handle either? Anyone experienced the same? Hoping to get the door off inside when Mr Frosty isn't nipping at my sausage fingers.
