A new baby made a dad wagon a necessity! I couldn’t go quietly into the night so got this 272 bhp superb estate in meteor grey. Since buying it I’ve started a modding addiction which I can’t seem to shake haha so far mods include

20” GMP Italia Angel Alloys
Painted brake callipers gloss red
Climair wind deflectors
Tinted windows
Boot edge protector
Smoked headlights
Smoked tail lights
Maxton front splitter (v3)
Maxton side skirts
Maxton spats
Maxton rear valance
Maxton spoiler extension
De badged rear
Black Skoda badges
Metal shift paddles
Hard wired dash cam
Rear facing baby cam and monitor
OEM tablet holder in rear headrest
Coding mods to include lane assist, comfort access, etc

Next on the list...

Quad exhausts
Rear mid boot spoiler
Lowering

When it’s out of warranty I’ll be looking at a stage one too!!

Loving this car and would recommend to anyone!!

Looks sharp! My dad ran a mk2 2.0d elegance estate as a company car for a few years. What a great car it was. We had a look online to check if it was still going and the last mot said 340,406miles on the clock! Only two advisories for anti roll bar joint has slight play and mcpherson strut bearing slightly tight!

I’d have one of these over an Insignia or Mondeo. The best working mans barge imho.

A friend of mine has one of these, lots of space, he uses it as his work van. Very practical car - cheap as chips compared to more premium stuff too!

I was going to buy a Sportline one last year in ABT guise. Unfortunately, it only leaves 100mm space in the garage so I can't walk round it with the door shut.

That looks, well, Superb!

I love them. I had the estate in L&K time but unfortunately only the 190bhp diesel as I was doing 25k miles a year, but I really did want the turbo petrol...

Such a effortless car to own and use everyday, and they really do look great.

I love these and yours looks great.

I've had my Octavia VRS for nearly 6 years/80k now and though I don't need to/logically shouldn't change it for now, when I do it'll either be one of these, or an Alfa Giulia Veloce depending on how much space I need at the time and depending on whether I want a third Skoda in a row as I had an Octavia 4x4 before.

Do these still come with the door umbrellas?

This is absolutely up my street, the Superb is a subtle and solid choice especially in this flavour.

It looks great and I want one.

They are great cars. The room inside is amazing and they really are more than a sum of their parts, drive wise.

Strangely though, i went to Skoda last year to buy one but they ended up wanting more money than i paid for my BMW 540i msport touring?

And they absolutely wouldn’t budge much on price!

They are very expensive brand new. I remember the list price of mine (with a few nice extras like ventilated seats) was £39k! I paid a lot less when it was 3 months old.

Yes they still come with umbrellas in the doors!

I’ve seen a few Skoda threads where people mention doing this. How does it work? Surely there is no hardware if the car didn’t leave the factory with it? For example the button for turning lane assist on/off.

And if it goes for a service at a main dealer won’t they put it back to as built if they check the software?

There is no physical button for any of the driver aids - it’s all done through the infotainment / menus in digital dash

Think of the options as a digital coded checklist - it’s as simple as “ticking” on or off

Dealer wouldn’t change any code during service

It’s a bit like the heated seats in Mercedes (and others I would imagine), it’s more cost effective to just install all the seats with the heated elements in rather than install/sign off two different seat designs or install the heater elements ‘on the line’.

When you pay for heated seat as an option, they are only really installing the button/software to operate the pre-installed heater units.

Interesting, thanks.

Btw if the had to update the software then they wouldn’t necessarily tell you - sometimes bug fixes get released as service updates that customers never know about, they just get done. Just something to be aware of - check everything is still turned on after a service just in case!
