Whilst I've enjoyed the Type R. I thought Itvwaa time scratch the AMG itch, and buy a V8 whilst I still can!!

I've gone for this one, it's a W212 Facelift, 2015 model year 51000 miles on it, in Magno Allanite Grey. I've never had a matte paint car before, but I really like it (not sure if I'll be saying that if I get a scratch!) I was looking at estates, but realised the saloon would be big enough for my needs.

It seems to have a great spec, dynamic seats that move around corners, heated and cooled, and a 360 degree camera, which will be useful when parking. I've only been for a quick drive in it (this certainly isn't the weather to try out a 550hp twin turbo V8..) I've found even at low speeds it really sounds fantastic, a lovely deep rumble. The steering will take some getting used to, as the Type R had so much feel. In comfort mode it seems to ride beautifully. I'm looking forward to some better weather so I can get better acquainted with it. The first think I want to do, is clean the alcantara on the steering wheel, and give the leather a clean. For the future, I may get a LSD fitted, and possibly to MSL in Birmingham for a remap..

Here are some rather wet photos..

Excellent work. I should imagine that's got some go about it. I really need to scratch the V8 itch before the fun police have us all in self driving milk floats.

Congrats, been eyeing up these as well, in either 5.5 or 6.2 flavour. I know the facelift W212 gets a lot of flak for its looks, but I like it.

Thank you, does seem to have some power looking forward to it being a bit dryer.

I must admit, that was my plan!

Thank you, I was back and forth between the two different shapes, but realised I preferred the facelift.

Thank you very much smile It was the colour that swayed it for me, looks great in person. looking forward to seeing it when it's not wet.. I saw one other for sale in the sale colour, would be interesting to know how many are in it.

Crikey I've had longer relationships with a carton of milk than you have with any car!

That is a tidy vehicle, as per all your other threads lol.

I can’t recommend MSL enough… I have an estate that now runs 756hp and 897lb.ft and it’s only a stage 2 car. Enjoy!

Yeah it definitely goes very well! Honestly just a stage 1 would be enough, mine did 670hp and 760lb.ft at that point.. I ended up wanting some more noise and didn’t want to cut the exhaust so I went with downpipes and then it seemed silly not to get a stage 2 map when I could.. I then ended up having the TCU remapped as well… all in all it’s a slippy slope if you have similar will power to me… hopefully we get some dry weather so you can get out abs enjoy it! I’m sure it won’t disappoint

I bet it sounds good with the downpipes as well, from the videos I've heard, the Turbos can be heard more. I'll bet it is, one thing always leads to another!

I daren't go to MSL, my wallet may not agree.. Fingers crossed the rain will stop at some point.

First thing I wanted to do this morning was clean the alacantara on the steering wheel, I used a damp micro fiber cloth, and some baby wipes, it's drying now, but I'm very pleased with the results, and much nicer to hold.

Before

After

Here are some photos of the car in a bit of sun instead of the rain yesterday. Really do like this paint.

Thank you! I highly recommend one, amazing amount of car for the money. Even at low speeds, that V8 sounds fantastic, and the cold start is enjoyable!

Another cheeky photo, the paint can be seen better here. I need to give it a clean if it ever stops raining. Find out what products I should use on the matte paint.

Thanks Lee smile

I must admit, I've not fully floored the throttle yet, but certainly feels its poised to go!
