Hey!

So, I’ve just bought my first ‘mota! An ‘06 FL Seat Ibiza Sport with the 1.4 16v BKY engine in!

Just wondering what sorta parts would fit onto it? Seen someone do MK7 golf seats into the same chassis as mine on Facebook but not much detail given. I’m basically aware that the Seat Cordoba, Skoda Fabia and VW Polo 9n bits will fit directly into these chassis, but would say MK5/6/7 Golf parts fit into it?

Think one of the first things I’ll do once I can start modding it is to get a flat bottom Leon wheel.

Also if you have one or have had one, show us! Let me know what you liked about it, didn’t like about it, weak points and any mods you did! smile

Is this is your first car and first insurance policy with a full licence?
Best thing you can do is no mods until you have a few years no claims under your belt.
Your not going to gain that much preformance from a 1.4 and you will never get the value back come resale of putting in the wrong spec interior vs leaving it standard and clean.

Congrats, nothing more exciting than your first car

I can't help on the mod side of things, one of the forums specific to Ibiza's maybe your best source for advice but enjoy!

Ignore them /\

If you can afford mods and insurance crack on. It's fun.

yes Go for it! My first car was a Mini Traveller and I threw every available accessory at it: Peco exhaust, rally seat covers, switch extensions, chequer stripes, the lot - you only have one first car.

I fitted a tape player in mine, (Vauxhall Viva HA) largely because I couldn't be bothered withe extra hassle of fitting a radio.

Please, please, please be sure to tell your insurer about any modifications at all. Even changing the stereo.

I suspect it may be better to buy a car with the things you want than to have to persuade an insurer to accept modifications. Regrettably their statistics seem to show that people who fiddle with their cars make more claims, however trivial the actual alterations.
