Hello all,

Looking for a bit of advice from the PH collective.

I have been asked to assist with my late brothers estate and part of this is an Audi Ur Quattro that has been stored away in a lock up since1994 and never been seen until today, when i got the keys to the lockup to go and check on the vehicles condition.

Now, i would absolutely love to take on the task of restoring such a rare car and getting it back on the road, but alas i have neither the time, skills or the funds to do so.

If any of the fellow PH folks (Audi experts) could maybe give me a few pointers as how to best approach dealing with this car or perhaps may be be able to put me in touch with somebody that could help out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Get Jonny from the Late Brake Show to do a video on it, he might also be able to advise on someone who might want it?

I think any of the classic auction places would take it away and sell it for you. Brightwells, for example. https://www.brightwells.com/classic-motoring/
Or in Scotland, https://www.morrisleslie.com/auctions/classic-cars...

if your looking to sell i would use collecting cars, they often get auction prices with a fraction of the cost

Can you PM your details so I can pass them on? Or the other way round? A friend of mine has a lot of them and big on the Quattro scene.

Just sent you a PM. Check your email wink

Ha Ha Yes my post may well get a nomination for Top Lurker 2021?

I am actually on Pistonheads most days, but this is the first time that i have actually had something even remotely interesting to post about.

Thanks for all the help so far, some good links for me to try.

Much appreciated.

This.
They seem to be moving some great cars and charge very little for doing so.

I second putting a post on the classic Audi forum, get some pictures up, and be honest about your intentions. There are quite a few ur owners on there including myself most of us have been through all the options.

This. And join as many Facebook Audi Quattro groups/ forums to spread the word/ link to car, once the auction starts.

I would be very cautious about listing as a fixed price private sale/ getting someone from an owners club to come and have a look as I don't think that would help get the best price.

All,

Thanks again for all the great advice.

I really appreciate you all taking the time to reply to my post.

Will have a look at the suggested classic Audi forums and see if i can post up some photos and details.

I have no financial gain from this car, i just want to do the best i can for my brothers wife.

There are a few on here who know a great deal about these, may be worth posting in the Classics and Yesterday’s Heroes section too.

There have been a few barn find quattro sales at the auction houses recently, whilst good ones have been getting strong results.

Good find, but should not really be used to compare against a standard example. Missing a lot of important/ costly parts, having been used as a track car at some point.

As an example, I have a 106 rallye missing the interior and with a non standard engine and because of this I would value it at less than half of an original example.

Bit of a thread revival.
For those interested, check out the late brake show. The Quattro is featured.

Thanks for the recommendations.

Cheers.

That was really interesting. It will look beautiful when it's fully restored.
