981 Porsche Boxster S - 3.4
Discussion
Well, my impulsive nature has led me in to another car. My first Porsche and a cracker at that. I started looking for one a few months ago, but was still vaguely looking at other cars in the same niche. Namely that of having an absolute cracker of an engine. I had one deal pulled on me whilst I was in discussion with the dealer but eventually made a deal with the owner of this car, a 2014 Boxster S, with only one issue. It was in Exeter and I live in Aberdeen!
So early morning a few weeks ago I hopped on a glorified tourbus from Aberdeen Airport. Had a brief stop in Norwich before heading over to Exeter and getting in just before 10am.

Checked over the car at the owners house and completed the deal before heading off in my first Porsche and my first soft top as well. Which given that I live in Aberdeen is perhaps a bit optimistic.

My initial plan was to take a slow route up through South Wales / East of England and stop over night south of the Lakes or in the Borders. However it didn't quite go to plan. Had a lovely drive through Hereford and up towards Wrexham. Sun was out and I was having a proper drive on the A roads.

Hit the M5 and barrelled towards the Lakes aiming to get there about 6pm, which I did. Stopped at the services just south of Kendal and started looking for a travellodge or any B&B to crash at. Of course my mistake was that there was absolutely nothing I could see available. I headed up to Tebay services and still couldn't find anything nearby.
Made the decision that I would probably have to just drive home, which I did. Not the smartest idea in the world, but didn't have much options. Needless to say that I won't be repeating that length of drive any time soon.

But at least I was home safe and the new car sat quite happily on the drive. First purchase that I made was to get some all weather mats. We're surrounded by pine trees and they get everywhere. Also, it's Scotland so rubber mats are a must.

.

Then she got a good detail and wax. Scrubbed and treated the soft top as well.

Then went for a bldy good drive in the sunshine over my favourite route.

Epic drive home, and quite some mpg as well!
I live in East Sussex but did the NC500 via the Cairngorms last week and reckon you probably have the most fantastic driving road in the UK within an hour or so of you! Can imagine a 981 Boxster S on there with the roof off is about as good as motoring gets. Enjoy!

Lovely car! I'm on my second! But it would be even lovelier if you polished up those exhaust pipes - they should come up lovely and shiny either in black or chrome!
It's on the list to tidy them up. Also might look at getting the GTS / sport design diffuser for the back.I normally.do my chrome pipes with a bit of autosol and a scouring pad then polish up. Just wasn't sure how best to do the black pipes. If i swap the diffuser and get the PSE fitted I might just replace the black with new chrome tips as I think that will look nicer.
