New daily driver - GD MK4 cobra replica

I have always wanted a Cobra, 60's cars just have those amazing curves, long bonnets, big engines and no driver aids.
Just before Christmas 2020 i pulled the trigger on a 2008 build Gardner Douglas MK4 cobra replica with a 383 stroker chevy in it.
My original plan was to buy this car and then place a deposit on a brand new one with an LS engine and specified exactly as I wanted it. I'm not saying I wont do that still but I decided to slow down a touch and enjoy what I have just bought.
This was the car the week I bought it home. I doesn't look any different now except to for tyre writing but i have spent a few £ on it since buying it.
I was quite disappointed to find that the classic car dealership i bought it from weren't as honest as they made out to be. The clutch was on its way out (after only 16500 miles) due to having been set up/adjusted incorrectly and a few other niggles with the car. - just about every nut and bolt was loose on the car!
I realised the clutch was dead on an attempt to drive the 200 mile trip to the lake district and back. thankfully i got half way there before deciding that the issue was definitely the clutch so I turned around and swapped to another car for the trip.
I genuinely daily drive this car so a carburetted engine pushing 430bhp isn't the most sensible option to go for ... so my solution was simple, add fuel injection!!
I had the car booked in with Ben at straight to the point racing for the fuel injection conversion before the fateful Lake District trip so i asked him to sort the clutch while it was in with him. A few weeks later I had the car back with fuel injection, new clutch and a whole host of other issues sorted on the car. he really went over the car top to bottom and made sure that the car was coming back to me ready for daily use.
Cant say that the daily drive fuel economy has changed much as its only a 6 mile commute so the engine barely gets warm but its has transformed the usability of the car and the fact that cold starts, hot starts, any starts just happen like clockwork is great. no more sitting on the drive getting the engine warm before setting off so that the car will idle at the junction at the end of the road. start and go!

[url]|https://thumbsnap.com/dQJZMVkv[/url][url]Fantastic, congratulations I've always hankered after one of these. 20 years ago my Ultima GTR used to be a total pain at junctions - you had to heel and toe to keep it running or it would stall if not warmed up properly. Everyone thought you were showing off but the reality was your just trying not to look like you stalled it 
What FI kit did you go for? We fitted a Holly kit on my friends Foxbody and it was a doddle. Even came with a choice of maps.

The same kit he fitted. Increases your mpg too.. not that is matters when you will be returning around 10
