Having completed 20 track days this year I’ve come to the conclusion that I need a lightweight back in my life again. I’ve therefore taken the plunge and put down a deposit on an Ariel Atom 3.5R after a test drive at Ariel’s base in Somerset last week. Maybe the perfect late summer’s day clouded my judgement! Time will tell…

Awesome! I bet that’s going to be nuts!

Will be interesting to hear how it compares to the 3 - Eleven on track.

Can't see how your judgement can be called into question with that! Nice one smile

Awesome, I’m sure this will be a beast on track! Totally different experience on track from your AMG, The K20 series of engines are great, cheap to service and from my experience extremely reliable! I had a 275bhp NA K20A (Dc5) engine in a EK civic that weighted roughly about 900kg, that was epic to drive.

I experience 3 hot laps around Knockhill in a supercharged Atom last year. Sorry i don't know the model.

It was sensational, and totally altered my understanding of fast. Totally blew the 800bhp GTR I had just had a shot of, out the water.

I'm very jealous. Awesome car.

I've seen a few chassis being brazed at Arch in Huntingdon (same people that made chassis for Caterham for a long time). The look great, and the hand assembly is always a plus.

The Atom 3.5R is now at home and after a few local drives what can I say? It’s mental!

Absolutely epic. saw the prototype being tested at Bruntingthorpe back in 2010 and it sounded absolutely nuts.
Major Kudos!
