L200 workhorse
Discussion
I posted my 2003 L200 workhorse in the Shed thread, but having owned it a couple of weeks I think I am doing it a disservice as it turns out that I love it.
I bought from an indie and it has 80k miles, 1 owner and a fsh. Comes with heavy duty winch and tow bar fitted and also a truckman top (which I don’t really want). I would have preferred a single cab truck but they seem as rare as the proverbial, and none at the price I wanted to pay.
Late last year we moved into a farm house on the northern edge of the Cairngorms and I wanted something that I could bash around in, ferrying stuff up and down the fields and collecting things like wood and materials.
It was owned by DEFRA and used in their rural work and as such carries a lot of battle scars, but it is clean underneath with no rust to speak of.
We had about 2ft of snow here over the weekend and with a drive that is 1/4 mile long down to a single track road we were effectively snowed in.
Broke out the truck, which is riding on BF Goodrich all terrains and made it to the end of the drive pretty easily. It has also coped driving through some of our fields which are very boggy.
I have now taken the canopy top off which makes it much more useful for chucking stuff into the back.
Planning to tart it up a tiny bit, things like respray the wheels and a couple of the longer scratches, primarily to stop them getting rusty or worse,
