Not often I have all 3 cars out and cleaned at the same time so thought I would grab a few shots.

The Tuscan is running superbly, annual service (its 21st) is booked for May so averaging just over 2k miles per service

The 535d has had some teething problems since it joined us in Oct, mainly oil leaks (couple of turbo connectors and the rocker cover) but now settled in to daily use and is a lovely car to drive, never been a diesel fan but I'm becoming a fan of this

The 650 is a stonking all round car and I'm ashamed to admit its only done 3k miles in the 3 1/2 years I have owned it - sounds glorious with smaller back boxes and bar something like a Continental GTC or DB9 Volante would struggle to think of anything that could easily replace it as a semi practical family car

That the looks tiny by comparison to the BMWs!

In the summer which keys would you go for first on a sunny day?

Good question and the answer depends on the circumstances:

Wife and son and need to carry his downhill bike - 535d

Wife and son and no bike - 650

If its just me or me and wife or son then the TVR

The 650 has been criminally underused (3k miles in 3 1/2 years) but with the cost differential between petrol and diesel currently its not that much more expensive in fuel than the 535d and is therefore getting used more frequently

The TVR is the most surprising car of the 3 though, massively better at cruising than I ever thought it would be and with its massive boot I'm definitely eyeing up potential for some longer road trips

Looks like a great trio you have their. The TVR looks great which is a default for me, very cool cars.

I'm very partial to that era of 6 series I must admit. They're quite a Marmite looking model and I think that adds to the appeal. smile

I hated the E60 5 Series and the E63 / 64 6 Series when they were current but now they look very restrained compared to the current design trends. The 6 is pretty imposing, only the interior lets it down, especially compared to the F11 5 Series.

Lovely Fleet and nice mix of cars. Never driven a tvr of bay type but the tuscan is a full weapon.

Thanks, gone through numerous combinations but this is probably the most balanced and appropriate for the family at the moment - still keep pondering on whether to add a small van (Berlingo, Doblo) for my sons mountain biking but it only takes a couple of minutes to throw the bike rack on to the 535d's towbar

I can understand that. I'm not even a BMW man but I can still recall seeing the M6 on Top Gear and just liking how it looks. You're right it's quite an imposing but styling wise is actually quite restrained compared to the latest stuff. smile

Great fleet, but the TVR really stands out as the gem - it's even a proper colour!

I realise they all have a different purpose but even as a serial BMW owner it's the TVR I'd want to take for a drive. thumbup

I think this rates as a bit more than a "family fleet" and I wasn't expecting much when I clicked the title. Wow, particularly the TVR.

Very nice mix of cars. Big fan of the TVR. Never owned a Tuscan, but had lots of others, 2 x SEACs, 450 Chimaera etc.. Current fleet for me consists of a Mk2 Audi TT S Line, and an E63 BMW 630i. I was tempted by the V8 650 but the few I looked at had various issues including oil leaks and worn valve stem seals/oil smoke when revved. I settled on the 3L N52 & find I’m more than happy with it on a day to day basis. They’re rare on the road, I rarely see another.
I have also squeezed 5 motorbikes into the garage, so whatever car I have has to live on the drive.

Looking at your TVR has me looking at the classifieds again though! laugh

Always loved the SEAC cars and have not ruled one out in the future

Touch wood my 650 has no oil leaks and valve stem seals were done prior to sale by the BMW specialist I bought it from
