It's not intentional but I have a bit of a thing for plastic cars.
I bought and built a Westfield SEI wide when I was a teenager, one of the first ones they released, wasn't a great car and was never really finished, sold it after a few years of ownership. No photo unfortunately.

I had a bit of a mid life crisis in my 40's and bought an Elise S, it was the first one I went to see, the advert was one of those too good to be true adverts, but the seller was a true gent, I bought it at 18 months old, 3 previous owners, FSH and only 4000 miles.
I still have it today, what a great little car.

Moving on to my latest purchase, I've always fancied a V8, especially a TVR, the noise they make is addictive. I trawled the PH adverts back in March and after a bit of to and frowing with the seller I bought this.

It's an early one, a 1994 Chimaera 400, no PAS, no AC, the last owner had it for 10 years and from what I can see from the stack of receipts that came with it, no expense was spared keeping it well maintained.

There are a few things that need sorting but I knew that when I bought it.
There is a petrol smell in the boot that migrates to the cabin with the windows open or roof off. All of the fuel pipes were replaced last year and I've had it on ramps at my local garage, they can't find a leak. I'll take the tank out next week and see what it can find. The smell appears to be coming from the right hand end of the tank looking at it from the rear, the fuel return attaches to the back of the tank on that side but can't be accessed without pulling the tank.

The seats are also very worn, with a little rip on the drivers side, I'll pull them over winter and get them sorted.

The speedo has a digital odometer, the LCD display has elements that have failed, speaking with the guys from ETB instruments who supplied TVR originally and the help from some PH'ers on here, confirmed the display was toast. A new speedo and matching rev counter were ordered. Just need to fit them, another job for next weekend.

It starts every turn of the key and ticks over really smoothly. Drives really well, no clunk's or knocks from the suspension, pulls really well in all gears.

More updates to follow.
