An insurance write-off and the boredom of either passing a day without a car or driving my wife back and forth from work, forced me to get a new car when I wasn't really looking for one.

I was of course thinking of an MX-5, but someone let me notice that I could have a comparable 350Z for about the same price, and since my two requirements were "no roof" and "something that goes VROOM", I could not ignore that piece of advice.

After some time studying the model, I did a 200 mile drive to see only one in the country for sale in what in my humble opinion is the best colour.
As you might have guessed, I do not really like to fly under the radar.

So far I am delighted, even if inside is by far the noisiest car I have been in. After a full valet, it's going to have a major service, and then I will get in touch with a specialist to restore all the interior leather.

Everything seems to be in good sahpe, except some corrosion in the exhaust, but that just allows me to classify a stainless steel replacement with a nicer sound as "necessary maintenance" instead of unnecessary frivolity.

Always liked these and the outlandish colours suit it really well. How’s the interior held up?

Do like these, had one a few years back, a grey convertible and recently my son bought an identical one and seems very enamoured with it, he was largely unmoved by the Golf R he had but loves the zed, lot slower but so much more character.

Excellent. My favourite colour for the 350z. Nice and understated. Will go well with a stainless exhaust...

Great car, and that is definitely the best colour!

The interior has some creases and cracks on the seats, and a couple of scratches on the handbrake and gearshift knob. It looks perfect while you walk to the car, but you notice it once you sit in.
I will ask for a refurbishing quote sometime next month, after I have sorted more relevant stuff.
