Well the mad Clio disappeared in February only to be replaced with an 2016 Aston Martin Vantage V12S. Just as well I like mad cars biggrin

Collected the car a few days ago and, what a machine. Yes I went to look at it and yes, had a fairly short test drive and knew I loved it. Had a long drive home in it and it can take a long drive to get to start learning a car. What a thing it is!

Ideally I wanted a car with the lightweight carbon seats, lightweight wheels and an alcantara steering wheel and this car has all 3 so a perfect result.

Paint colour is Onyx Black and the interior is all Chancellor Red. From the A pillars forward the car has full PPF.

Only changes will be Secondary cat delete pipes, black wheel nuts and an exhaust valve controller. Otherwise the car is perfection as it is...even for a fussy old bugger like me.

Car was in yesterday for a bit more security fitted to it and it's into a detailers on Monday for a week for him to work his magic and ceramic coat it. Have ordered new gaskets and bolts for the delete pipes and if they turn up in time the pipes will be fitted whilst it's in with the detailer.

Apologies for a different post for each pic but for some reason can only put one per post

.

Phwoar that looks nice, searched a few times for manual V12Vs over the years as they're beautiful cars, and the N/A V12s are superb sounding lumps! Enjoy cool

It speaks to how mad the Clio V6 is as a concept that when someone says “I’ve changed it for a V12 Aston” my immediate thought is ‘that’s a great sideways move’.

Both fantastic cars for different reasons. I’m not sure I could part with a Clio V6 though. Liquid yellow mk2 is a bucket list car for me.

Done a few bits since getting it home.

Front and rear cameras in, new tracker system fitted, it's into the detailers next week and he'll have it for about a week, black wheel nuts have arrived (can't understand why AM doesn't fit them if the lightweight wheels are specced,) collecting Secondary Cat delete pipes on Sunday and ordered new gaskets and bolts so they'll also be going on next week.

Getting on first name terms with the staff at the local fuel station biggrin

Totally undecided as to whether or not to get Apple CarPlay fitted, the oem satnav is better than I thought but not as good as I'd like. I bought a jobbie to hold my phone and tried that out on the way back from Newcastle to use Google Maps but to be honest, the look of it didn't suit the look of the car.

Not too fussed about music via CarPlay as much prefer to listen to the sound of the car, makes such a soulful wail even when bumbling around in it.

Looks great
I have chancellor red in my peasant edition V8
I really like it because it a good contrast without being too bright.
If you find your seats have been nicked you’ll know where they’ve gone lol

Great car, love the red interior.

The v6 was an epic car too.

I think the Aston would look better with Silver wheels.

That is a creamy smooth engine, congratulations. What is the maintenance costs like on the V12?

Probably similar to a 1.1 Fiesta I would have thought.

I bet they are high 1)due to being Aston and 2) 12 spark plugs ain’t cheap.

I assume there are some very good specialists but they are going to be £100 per hour + vat?

The service plans aren't exactly cheap but anything to do with Aston Martins isn't. Annual service iro £800-900 whereas the 7th year one where the plugs are supposed to be changed is iro £1400-1500.

To be honest, when you have a look at the accessory price list they're taking the mick.

To be fair I think that's pretty reasonable comparing to v12 Lamborghini / Ferrari maintenance.
