The Cayenne was starting to rack up serious garage fees and the whole “glue in the engine block can fail at any time” ticking time bomb, it was time to get rid.

Thanks to ULEZ, the price for big diesel 4x4s is in the toilet, so as I didn’t want to go down the finance route and both the wife and I having fond memories of an old 4.6 P38, so I traded in for a tidy 3.6 TDV8 on a 57 plate.

174,000 miles but mechanically tight, everything works and the trade in got me enough cash back to budget for tidying up the rear arches properly, pay for the very best diagnostic kit, four new tyres, a service and few quid left over. You can keep your Bugattis - I’m living the dream right now!

Sometimes, you’ve just gotta scratch an itch.

Went into it with my eyes open, have no problem fixing things and it’s a car I’ll keep going regardless, as it’s a car that ticks every box for me.

Range Rovers hate two things - short journeys and poor maintenance. Much like any true luxury car, you can’t run them like a Japanese hatchback. 🤷‍♂️
