The Retina Burner - Panda Cross 4x4 Content

After many many years admiring Pandas from afar I’ve finally bitten the bullet and picked this lairy lil f****r up tonight.
It’s a 2019 Panda Cross with the 0.9 Twin Air engine in eye searing yellow with the winter pack which adds heated front screen and heated seats.
Not sure what we are going to do with it yet, although we do plan on going out and finding a few green lanes over the weekend and have a bit of a laugh with it. But other than that I’m just going to enjoy the little thing and smile every time I see it’s daftness as I walk towards it.

You might be right? I think this particular generation came out in 2012 and has only just been updated in the past year or so?The panda must be one of the oldest new cars you can get!
But for me that’s part of the charm and it’s definitely a heart purchase rather than a head one.

current gen Panda 4x4 was launched in UK early 2013, looking at the Autocar road test from April 2013. I have had one in the family since then, one my second now, which delivered late 2017. Ferrari's, Porsche's and various AMG's have come and gone in my garage over the past ten years, but the one constant has been a Panda 4x4. I just love them, so much character, brilliantly engineered and so fit for purpose. It never fails to make me smile, and both have been 100 percent dependable without a single fault or rattle. But for me that’s part of the charm and it’s definitely a heart purchase rather than a head one.
The Cross looks cool, but both mine have been the standard twinair 4x4's in tuscan green with winter packs (heated windscreen is such a helpful touch).
A few years ago I was dicking about in the snow in my old Range Rover. I managed to get the thing stuck down a country lane. After a while of digging and swearing I was about to admit defeat, thinking there was never going to be another vehicle coming past in these conditions when out of the gloom appeared a Panda 4x4. 
It appeared to be floating on the snow rather than trying to drive through it like the Range Rover. The very friendly driver helped me on my way and ever since then I've always been very taken with these Pandas. I hope you have a lot of fun with it!

I convinced my girlfriend to get one a couple of years ago as we moved to a semi-rural spot up a private road of iffy quality, so needed something with a bit of ground clearance and 4wd.
It's been a fantastic car, no faults, peppy little engine which loves to be revved, decent at motorway speeds, heated seats and windscreen, and the 30kg labradoodle fits in the boot (just). Fits well with the XC70 as a two-car household - I find myself preferring the Panda if I have to nip into town on errands.

I live somewhere coastal with half decent roads and have no need for something with 4x4 or raised ground clearance but NEEDED to have one of these.
I had a 500 Twin Air when they were 1st released and drove that non stop to The Algarve and it never missed a beat so it’s nice being reacquainted with the angry box of bees engine once again.
One thing I am after is a mesh type roof rack so I can put my motorbike wheels and stuff in it when I take them for tyre changes etc ..
