Traded my mk1 RS for an evo6!
Discussion
I have always been a bit of a ford fan and had most of the 90’s hot hatches - fiesta rs, escort si, gti, rs, cosworth, mondeo st and focus rs’s.
Had a big power mk1 RS focus that was amazing but was pretty rough, this was sold to fund a house purchase. Always promised myself another, better model which i eventually found a Couple of years ago.
It was low ish miles, original and pretty much rot free. As it was so nice and original i felt bad using it, a last big road trip of the nc500 and i decided to have a look for something else.
Was just browsing one day and spotted an evo6 just off the boat and awaiting its papers, at a dealer around 1hr away.
The deal was done and i picked it up last week, no real drives yet but so far so good!
Kids love it, wife hates it - im torn as it’s definitely not subtle. But im embracing my early mid life crisis

New mud flaps

Load of wiring removed from everywhere, must of had a huge stereo once!

Nice! Seat wear is always an issue with these, faded and usually the centre section scuffs up and has ugly pink blotches. Hope yours have survived well.
Great cars to drive, a real window into the past. I had a go in my mates TME and it felt way more special but nothing like as tight and pointy as my 9MR. Id have a Tommi in a heart beat, keep it well serviced and enjoy driving it!

No decent pics yet and no real drives yet, just working my over some annoying little jobs;
Removing more dodgy wiring,
removing annoying Japanese lady who shouts and beeps constantly,
reattaching interior trim with new clips,
Getting the stereo working,
Realising all the speakers are blown and having to replace them all,
More dodgy wiring,
Getting the dash lights working.
Only jobs left are new head unit, new bodykit trim gasket, a good polish, interior clean, new side repeaters, few more stickers, find and replace some dash panels that have been drilled out, raise the back end slightly…
Seats wise - drivers is worn on the bolster, rest are great, mismatched front and rear door panels!?
