Cupra Born 230hp Eboost
Discussion
after being fed up with people trying to steal my tuned fiesta st I decided to get a company car, had no idea just how much tax you pay so settled on a cupra born after test driving one.
managed to find an unregistered v2 with techpack and eboost, would have liked DCC too but that meant a factory order and it was annoying me having to put the disclok on the fiesta.
what I really like is just how smooth the ride is, coupled with having zero engine noise it feels like an S-class or something to me and reminds me a little of the e350cdi I had quite a few years back
the instant throttle response is super fun too, acceleration below 60mph is very strong
for it's weight the car handles nicely, a low center of gravity and it being rwd helps this
the tyres aren't the best though as they are ecosports
the interior is nice and it's also nice to have carplay and all big screen, volume controls are very annoying
the headup display is also annoying and at this point i'm not sure how to disable it, perhaps i'll have to put some tape over whatever is projecting it
there will be lots of things i'll miss about the st, the power from 60+, not having a 99mph speed cap and the confidence inspiring handling etc
but realistically for most of my driving this will be a comfortable and still fun car to commute in

I've grown to quite like these. Quite looking forward to seeing an EV hot hatch group test at some point in the future. The Cupra against the ID3 GTX and the upcoming MG4 Trophy/Triumph. I'm sure there will be more along soon too.
I can really see the potential in a 300+hp ev of this size, the trophy sound incredibly appealing at £35k - 450hp 4wd toojust hope that the goverment keeps the EV BIK incentive for a long while

They're a decent EV not anywhere near a drivers car but they don't have to be but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy them
no doubt, I've had/have plenty of good drivers cars before - this is still fun though
today I figured out how to disable the head up display which was driving me nuts!
